How long does it usually take

for a submitted story to be accepted or rejected?

I submitted my first a few days ago and just wondering. Actually I want to make sure I didn't screw up the process.

First of all, you have to understand that a LOT of stories get submitted to Lit.

That said, it usually takes anywhere from a few hours to a week for a story to get accepted or rejected. The average seems to be about three days.

If you follow the sme steps as you took to submit the story, you'll find a link to "View Submissions." If you did everything right, your story should show there as "Pending" until Laurel gets around to processing it. -- Any status except "Rejected -Reason" will eventually work itself out.
