How long does it take for my story to get posted?

I apologise if this question has been answered elsewhere. I couldn't find the answer, so I thought I'd ask here.
I submitted a story approximately 20 hours ago & it still says awaiting approval, & status is pending.
Just wondering if this is normal, & what is the average amount of time from story submission untill it gets posted onto the site.
