I have an hour, but I normally don't use it. Don't eat lunch.

And I'm salaried, so I don't get paid extra for working thru lunch. Damn! :p

I'm salaried. I take as long as I want for lunch. However, I still have to get all my work done. So, I end up paying for long lunches by having to stay later. It really isn't worth it to take a long lunch unless there is something special I need to do.

i'm self employed so i could take as long as i want but i usually only take 15-20 minutes..

I have an hour, but usually run out to BK and go through the drivethru. Back in about 20 minutes!

Although ususally I'm here, not "working" anyway.

Sorry, I couldn't vote in your poll...

I get 50 minutes for lunch, at least 10 of which are usually taken up by trying to settle down the kids (they have absolutely no respect for the incompetent lunchlady).

I eat lunch at my desk, which means that sometimes I get some real time to relax and eat. Most times, though, I get my lunch dropped off at my desk, then the same person who dropped it off is in my face five minutes later asking me to do something "important". They often get upset when I tell them to come back later. It doesn't seem to register to them that they just spent an hour out of the office themselves eating and maybe I'd like more than a couple minutes to choke down whatever lunch I have.

I am salaried but only get 30 min for lunch. I take my lunch everyday for two reasons.
1. it is cheaper than eating out and I am a cheap bastard

2. I hate fighting lunch crowds and would rather spend the whole 30 min relaxing.

I usually have an hour but by the time I drive clear across town its like 30 minutes... most of the time I eat something fast and quick at some fast food place.

What in the HELL kind of question is that...

Oh, I usually take 2-3 hours for lunch. I have my half hour break midmorning after my 30 minute coffee chat...lunch... then another 30 break.. topped off with an hour mid day chat...

60 minutes, give or take...

Unemployed

I take as long as I want when I want. However, since I'm job hunting, who knows how long this leisurely lunch time will last?

I'm self employed so I eat at my desk while working or I head out with the girls and take as long as I want. :)

Mandatory minimum of 1 and a half hours in France. Sacrosanct.

Even when the emergency teams from Ireland came here mid -winter - short days - to repair the electricity after the big millenium hurricane. They had to sacrifice 90 minutes daylight for lunch.
The Irish lads, used to eating a sandwich up a pole were flabberghasted.

Then you might often need to add 60 mins nookie time.

But they only work a 35 hour week.

Oh, and there is no flexibility - must start to eat between 12 and 1:15 .

...do they at least unchain them?

I'm on salary & agree w/ Desdemona- I can take a long leisurely lunch & work late or grab a sandwich, work thru lunch & get out a decent time.

I get 30 minutes, but since I work in a nursing home I rarely get my 30 minutes all in one sitting. Usually have to get up about 4 times to get someone something.

Salaried jobs....eeek. That's one mistake I won't make again...well..err...unless that salery is REALLY good. I mean, hey, who doesn't have their price?? ;)

One advantage of being the sole owner of a company, and being a 25% owner in another is the ability to have no time constraints as to when, how much, or for how long. Lunch sometimes starts at 11:30 and finishes at 4:00 pm.

Other days maybe its a quick "30" in a restaurant. I hate Fast Food so that is never an option. In case of one of those "God I hate my client days---- give me 3 balance bars and some Green Tea and it will have to do.

Sorry, I didn't think about 45... but would 30 be close enough? ;)

Hmm, an hour would probably be closer since I don't really do anything for 15 minutes after lunch ends. :D

Lunch time is munch time

I am my own boss so I take what ever time that I want,

That is my time for quickies and I am not as quick as I used to be, Besides I like to take my time on a hairless furburger.

My mother told me that I should slow down and enjoy my meals,
And Mother is always right.LOL
