How important is the wearing leather/PVC/latex in your lifestile?

Myself, I don't need to wear it, but get so aroused when my partner wears leather or PVC.
 
Well, whatever floats your boat...

but costuming does not a Dom make.

For me, at least.

Just gimme a Dom with a snarl... and I'm a happy subbie.
 
don't want to sound rude.. but..

If a Dom/me can't turn me on with just their mind and body, no amount of window dressing is gonna fix it. Clothing is a non issue for me.
 
If your going to a public event or a play party, you can dress the part. Myself, I find leather too unwieldy and hot. I would rather be comfortable while playing. Being confortable in what your wearing leaves you one less thing to worry about or to distract you.

i prefer the "never let them see you're coming until it's too late" approach.

On her, it's all gift wrap. Gimme the prize inside, unless i'm hankering to perform a whipsaw, then, leave her in a g-string.

For parties I dress up a bit (or down) but he doesn't have a dress preference on me. In public, he prefers black (I'm very fair skinned and he likes the contrast).

At home, skin to skin is THE best..

There's a lot of cheesy-looking PVC out there. Unless it's meant to be cheesy, or is one of those one-in-a-million outfits, I can't stand it...
 
I don't wear latex.... shuddering at the thought of me in latex.... However leather is another thing... but I have worn leather for years and love it.... but it has nothing to do with BDSM... it is just what I wear....
 
I have a pair of PVC boots, and have a picture of the PVC dress that I want. Latex is totally out, as I'm a healthcare worker who already has a sensitivity. Leather is, alas, too expensive thus far. I do have some things that I will wear as a 'tease' for our boy, but in general, once we actually start playing, it's down to just the basics (i.e. panties, or nothing). I'm all about being comfortable, and most stuff that I like the looks of isn't all that comfortable ... Holly agrees - naked is the way to go, for us and our boys.
