How fast do you type?

I have never actually tried to find my wpm...
but I guess its pretty fast when I want it to be.
Probably around 60....

but hell one hand typing must be such a bitch lol

using the proper method of typing when i put my mind to it
about 15 wpm correct

teo finger hunt and peck about 90 wpm correct

Last time I took the test, it was around 75-80 wpm....Thank god for spellcheckers LOL

I can play the piano, I'm sure it does help typing because it gets you moving the ol' fingers quickly and using all 10 of 'em. If I really need to type quick I can do 95 wpm but I never do. It hurts the ol' digits.

When I was typing professionally -- and with a gun to my head -- I could cook along at about 125 wpm.

Now, though, it's more about 90, with a tailwind.

Sometimes I miss my old Selectric II. THAT was a wonderful typewriter.

oooh a reason I don't check my speed is all the damn points they take off for spelling errors.... I'd be down to 10 wpm if I didn't look back over everything

That sounds like my stupid fingers too. I can probably type about 150 wpm, but by the time they deduct for typos, I'm in the negative numbers.

Most of the time, I use the "biblical method" -- I can't type accurately without looking at the keyboard.

Last time - many many years ago - that I was actually timed I could do about 120 wpm - almost always no mistakes. These days I believe I actually type faster, but make more mistakes.

I haven't been timed since high school. so I'm not sure. I do use all my fingers, not hunt and peck. My typing has gotten faster in the past year, since I started posting and chating.

Quick story. My slow typing lead me to my first round of phone sex. I was upset one day and chatting with a friend in the chat room. My typing was so slow she asked if she could call me so I could get it off my chest. We didn't have phone sex that first conversation but soon there after.

And one handed typing. Also from in the chat room, goofing off on night, I said I was only typing with one hand and someone told be to use both hands. I said "Okay, but that means I', going to have to type with my nose."

Ahhh, but what were those old typewriters called? The ones with the letters attached to a arms that would 'reach' out and strike the paper? Had to love those things in typing class - any faster then the 30-40 wpm and all you had was a glop of partially extended arms all kind of stuck together.

I think slower typing, deeper wutever

It brought us all here to stay...

I tried chat rooms and couldn't stand the mindless hyper speed crock of shit...

And I wound up here, where I can think it through and still enjoy deep silly or just plain whacky...I think I can tye faster than I can handwrite...

But I forgot to add...

I got penmanship awards every year...so it's not that I can't turn a Quill

I think I can type about 65wpm.... that's when I am trying not to make too many mistakes that is.

Last time I checked it was around 35WPM. But that was back in Junior High, so I've no idea how fast/slow I am right now.

Took the test:

several times, actually. I got results ranging from 37 to 69 wpm, error-free. I'd take the average and say around 50. Better than I thought! Back in Grade 9 keyboarding class, I couldn't quite get to 30 wpm.

I am absolutely amazed that some of you can go over 100!!!
