How does sending someone to prison for consensual sex with a sexually mature, though not legally mature, partner, benefit society. Not saying its ok, or shouldn't be punished, but years and years in prison for what was a consensual act on both sides seems to be a pretty big waste of money.

Does anyone really think these boys were "victims"? I know I wouldn't have considered myself a "victim" if a hot teacher banged me in high school. The whole thing is pretty ludicrous.

There are differences in both how society views the sexualization of males vs females and there are differing potential consequences of that process.

Emotional maturity and development have similar impacts. Males so victimized would have trouble reconciling conflicted feelings about something that they would likely get a pat on the back for that which they were not prepared to experience.

I personally think that even if there is no adult abuseder involved the way society has sexualized our youth is to our detriment.

I noticed that double standard too, but mostly from a few men. Very few women seemed to defend her.
((Well, I did the mistake of defending someone like her, once. Not because I agree with that act tho, but because I was certain that she didn't do it. I started to suspect afterwards that I was mistaken.))

To add to that: Imagine the horror if the teacher "falls in love" and lets herself get pregnant (even if the minor "agrees" to that).
I think that there was one such case in the US.
