How does one post a picture in profile?

Edit your member's profile

go here:

Sign in with your BB name and password, and it will taky you to your member's profile for the site.

Near the top of the page is arow of links for "submit story", "Edit Profile" etc. Click on Edit profile.

At the very bottom of the page, is a a space labeled "change or submit picture"

Enter the filename of the picture you want included in your profile, or click browse and find the picture on your system. (Hint: before you start, find the picture and copy it to a temporary sub-folder in "My Documnets." That makes finding it with browse much easier.)

When you "submit changes" the picture will upload to literotica. (It will take some time for the picture to upload so be patient)

But as I understand it, it's not actually listed in the members' profile section until I e-mail the info and pic to Laurel? The page exists, yet no link will get you to it unless you log in as me. Am I missing something?

Laurel or Manu has to approve the picture, and then regenerate your profile page before the picture displays to others.

Most pages are regenerated on a schedule of some sort. I think most things will update overnight when the "daily maintenance" scripts run.

Manu just fixed the member's search function so it can find members who aren't authors.

I think your confusion comes from the fact there are two member's lists that are the same list of names. When accessed through the BB member's list link, the BB software doesn't show the additional information available through the site member's list.

Eventually, Laurel says they hope to merge the two, but that's way down the list of things to do.

I did this and I got a broken link, where the pic is supposed to be, everytime I tried to view my profile. You know, the box with the 'X' in it... am I still doing something wrong, or is this what u meant by:

No, the picture should be visible when you're logged in to the edit profile page. It has to be approved and regenerated before others can see it, but you should be able to see it.

It sounds like your picture didn't completely upload. Either you changed page too soon, or something canceled the upload.

Sometimes, it's hard to tell what is happening. I run 3Com modem manager which gives me a graphic display of when data is going in or out of my system so I have some idea about when I'm waiting for something to finish and when I'm waiting because the system is hung up someplace.

If you right click on the red X it should give you some clue as to what the problem is. One possibility is that you saved a shortcut to the picture instead of a copy of the picture. The URL shown when you right click the X should end in JPG, GIF or BMP -- not LNK, HTM, PDD, TIF or other file type.

If you have further problems, you should notify Manu via webmaster@literotica.com because I don't have access to the file or your profile to determine exactly what the problem is -- I have to make do with SWAGs.

Now is the wait for Laurel or Manu to approve and regenerate the members listing. It should be up in a day or so. If it isn't, then e-mail Laurel and check on it.

I don't think you're going to need to e-mail manu. It showed up after the midnight update. Nice doll.
