By definition, if the man being cuckolded doesn't leave the relationship, he's participating at least somewhat. At least in the United States, the 13th Amendment to the Constitution prohibits human chattel.

Like many elements of D/s, participation is required to some extent, along with what may be described almost as a willing suspension of disbelief. As a sub, I'm being "forced" to let my Domme wife tie me up, beat me, torment me, etc. The harsh cold reality is, however, that with years of martial arts training, weapons' proficiency training and nearly 50% more body mass than her, she'd be hard pressed to truly force me to do anything against my will. I make an active choice to allow her certain liberties with me and our relationship, subject to guidelines we've established between ourselves. The hows and whys of the guidelines will necessarily vary in creation and function between couples or groups but they still exist.

Sometimes it's just best not to over-think these things.

Of course, no one's really seen me much as I've only recently joined. Well, except for those subscribed to the Men in Panties thread . . . they've seen quite a bit, actually.

I haven't really had much to add to those discussions, yet.
