How do you use Favorite Stories (on members' bio pages)?

Although I’ve been reading Literotica for years, I just created a login profile. I’m wondering how other people use their favorite stories page. Do people use that as a curated list of stories they would recommend to someone else, or do they just add any story that interests them? I like to go back to certain stories depending on my mood, so I’m planning to click Favorite on any story I read that I might want to go back to. But since that page is visible to other members, is that something I should rethink?

I love it when an author has lots of other author's stories linked on their bio. Is there an etiquette to which stories an author Favorites?

As a reader, I don't have any stories from others that I've marked as favorites. My style is to just bookmark the story and put the bookmark in my stories folder. There are only a handful in there.

As an author, I use favorites as a marker of whether anyone wants to read my smut. The more favorites, the more people want to read that story.

Followers is another marker that I use to tell me if I'm reaching the demographic I'm writing for.

TIL I can follow an author lol

Thanks for your answer! I was hoping for just this type of information. I'm always curious how people use systems, so I like that you gave me several perspectives.

Like I said, I've been reading here for at least a decade but I never bothered to figure out how to site's features. In fact, until your reply, I had no idea you could follow an author.

BRB gonna go follow some authors...

I don't have much use for the Favorite Story function. The few I have in there are mostly How To "X" essays related to writing and publishing here on LitE.

I do have several in my Read Later stash — but to be honest, I rarely get back to it and read something from there. But they're there if I want something to read.

The Favorite Author list is the most useful to me as it notifies me when an author I like publishes a new work.

When I read stories on lit, I am also masturbating. I want to keep reading until I have had a satisfying amount of orgasms. If I find a story I enjoy (and I still want to masturbate), I will click on the author's name to see if they have another story I want to read. If they don't have one, then I go luck at their favorites. More often than not, it gets the job done!

just the barnburners

I never used to use any of it for years, now I find it's a great way to find stories. Like MaybeMae I look at other's favourites. I save my favourites for those stories I keep going back to. I use the favourite authors for a lot of stories I used to have in favourites.
Speaking of finding stories, where do I post looking for a story I can't remember the title or author,
even google advanced coming up dry from phrases I'm sure I remembered.
might jog's somebody's memory
