Often there are Lit members who will indicate they are bored - whether it be they're writing a personals ad or perhaps they're commenting on a thread in the PG that they are bored.

Question is this - can a person who's saying they're bored ever be thought of in a positive manner or is it largely taken in a negative way?

Think it depends, if that's all they ever say.....be difficult to be positive, if they are generally positive, a little different....

Evening SD.:)

If they are just commenting on what they are feeling, I don't see an issue. If they are saying they are bored with frequency in conversation, I don't find it negative but I do find it dull.

No matter how good you are at entertaining yourself, sometimes we all need a little company.

I usually read such posts as "I could use some human contact just now" rather than just being a bout boredom.

If they say they're bored as though it's my sole responsibility to entertain them or that they're entitled to some form of interaction purely because I'm on here and that automatically means I must be sexually available for them then all I feel is annoyed...

My mum used to always say...only boring people are bored...there are far more people to interact with so I just pass them by...

Have to say, I always wonder too...:D

I don't see it as a negative. It's just part of being human...everyone experiences boredom at some point in their lives. Not every day is exciting or challenging or fun. And often people with the most active minds can become bored easily if they don't feel challenged. I think it's often a sign that they need to make a change in their lives, so it can be the first step to growth.

I vote "other". I know I'm bored sometimes, and say so here. I'm a very positive person, do a lot of different things, have a generally great life.....but sometimes....fuck, I get bored. Does that mean I have to jump up and go do something super exciting to relieve it ? No....and anyway, there's always Lit :D

I think anyone who says they are NEVER bored...are not being completely honest.

Well I'm not really a social bug to begin with, usually when I say I'm bored it's more that there's nothing to do rather than wanting human contact.
