How do you post pictures?

First of all, you have to find the URL of the Image, not the web page it resides on. Right click on the image you want. Click the open image in a new tab. Now right click on the image and click on copy Image Address.

Past the Image Address into the Reply to Thread text box. No put the tags around it. Or click on the icon of mountains and the sun. In the popup dialog past the address into the the box. Click okay. That will put the code in the reply edit textbox. Try it in this thread so we can see what you are doing.

Gifs?

Ok, posting pictures fine now, but having trouble with gifs.

I take it you have to do something different with them?

as long as the file name ends in .gif it is just the same as sharing a .jpg or a .png

Nope, as Saint said, just the same at any other image. Now it will not except a .webm file which is a new standard for animation, which includes sound but is not an .avi or .mp4.

Yep. Unfortunately some folk these days use "gif" for any similar kind of animation, including those that you can't hotlink like a true gif.

Testing inserting a photo
