How do you post Illustrated stories?

Hello,

Can someone help me out with this issue?

1. What's the difference between "Briefly describe your submission" and "Full Description".

In other words, why do you have to describe it twice? Which one appears as your official story description?

2. Where do you submit the text of the story? I only see the option to upload images, but nothing for text. I'm interested in doing something where it goes from story, to image, back to story, ect...

3. What's the difference between "Adult comics" and "Erotic art" ?

I'm assuming "erotic art" means photographs.

Thanks!

Actually, according to what I read at http://literotica.com/faq/11022303.shtml I didn't think photographs were allowable. It seems like I even remember one artwork that was actually rejected over in the Visual Artists corner because it was so good that Laurel thought it was a photograph.

Also, I thought the long description was optional. But, I admit, I'm still fumbling along with stories and poetry and hadn't worked my way down to the "illustrated" categories on my survivor scorecard yet. (or for awhile).

Just a sidenote, if no one else comes along that knows more about it than I (which shouldn't be hard), you might pop into the Visual Artists Corner off the Main Forums page to see if those types might be able to shed some light since I don't often see those same names make appearances here.

Looks like you're looking at the Illustrations section guideline, not the Illustrated Stories guidelines. The Stories can have pictures in them.

On a side note, where do you get photos for the illustrated stories. I wouldn't want to take one off of the 'net and find the copyright holder hitting me up with a lawsuit.

Somehow I don't think my wife would appreciate an ad in the local paper: "Sexy women sought for custom erotic photo shoot. Pics will be part of an illustrated erotic story posted on line. I'll take the pictures in my house. Must be over 21."

Not will my wife pose herself.

I really don't know. Me, I was going to pull out my grandkid's Crayola box if I made it that far down the card.

All artwork - including drawings, paintings, and photographs - must comply with these rules:

- All persons in the image must be over 18 years of age.
- Image must not contain a URL or other advertisement.
- Image must be no more than 525 pixels wide. (Note: we will size the image to fit if we are able to do so. However, if we are unable to shrink the image, you will need to resubmit.)
- Like all other submissions on Literotica, images must be your original work - i.e. photographs that you yourself took, or paintings or drawings that you yourself created. Please do not submit photos or other images you have found elsewhere.
- Hardcore images are allowed in drawings, paintings, 3D renderings, and other non-photographic images.

Photographs also have these rules: Legally, we can allow soft nudity in photographs, but under current United States law, photographs posted on this site may not contain "sexually explicit conduct", which the government defines as:

- Actual or simulated:
(A) sexual intercourse, including genital-genital, oral-genital, anal-genital, or oral-anal, whether between persons of the same or opposite sex;
(B) bestiality;
(C) masturbation;
(D) sadistic or masochistic abuse; or
(E) lascivious exhibition of the genitals or pubic area of any person.

Please note: These rules apply to all photographic images, including photographs manipulated in a graphics program.

If your image does not meet all of the above requirements, your submission will not be posted. In that case, please resubmit with images which meet our criteria.

You may submit an illustrated story one of two ways:

1) Embed the images in a Microsoft Word document and upload it through the Story Submission page in your author profile.
2) Submit the text of the story through the Story Submission page in your author profile, then email the image(s) to submit @ literotica.com - making sure the subject line of the email is the title of your submission. In the Story Submission's Notes field, let us know that the artwork for the submission is coming via email. Be sure to make notes within the body of the story showing us where you want each picture to be placed.

IF using photos, USE YOUR OWN, of models 18 years and older..etc. etc..

I do believe the OP was looking at the illustration section guidelines, which is NOT the same as illustrated stories.

Story sections:
Stories — text
Illustrated stories ( & poems) — Text plus some illustrations

Adult Illustration Section:
guidelines
Adult Comics— single panel or multiple panel illustration with some text (think comic books or graphic novels)
Erotic Art (drawings and paintings not photos)— little or no text

What is the Literotica Illustrations section?

Literotica Illustrations is a place for you to submit your original non-photographic artwork - your own comics, paintings, computer-generated artwork, etc. - to be viewed and enjoyed by Literotica readers.

Literotica Illustrations is different from our Illustrated Stories section. While the Illustrated Stories section contains text stories with accompanying artwork, the Illustrations section is for artwork that is displayed on its own - not as part of a text story.

What are the guidelines for submitting an Illustration?

Illustrations must meet certain guidelines, which are basically the same as for our stories:

- All persons in the image(s) must be over 18 years of age.

- Image must not contain a URL or other advertisement.

- Image must be no more than XXX pixels wide. (Note: we will size the image to fit if we are able to do so. However, if we are unable to shrink the image, you will need to resubmit.)

- Like all other submissions on Literotica, images must be your original work - i.e. comics you created, or paintings or drawings that you yourself painted or drew. Please do not submit photos or other images you have found elsewhere.

- We do not accept images of bestiality. (This means we do not accept human beings with real animals. Vampires, werewolves, robots, and other fantasy beings are acceptable.)

- While we accept violent imagery of the type found in horror and adventure stories, we do not accept "snuff" (imagery that sexualizes murder or extreme torture). If you’re not sure if your image complies, try submitting it with a note letting us know of your concerns.

- We reserve the right to reject any submission we believe may infringe on other people's copyrights or trademarks.

- We do not currently accept photographs or photo-manipulations to our Illustrations category.

As with Literotica stories, if your image does not meet all of the above requirements, your submission will be sent back to you with a reason why we can't publish it.

I misunderstood the process.

I meant to ask about the Illustrated stories. Meaning, story text with pictures in between.

http://www.literotica.com/c/illustrated-erotic-fiction

But I was looking at this one, which features only pictures.

http://www.literotica.com/c/adult-comics

So if I want to submit an erotic story with pictures, I'm assuming that I have to submit the story as a Word document with the pictures pasted in, correct? Then for the category, select Illustrated stories.

Pretty much or method 2
