How do you like you guacamole?

What consistency do you prefer in your guacamole?

Okay, I want to know how you like your guacamole, so I'm polling the audience. I also want to know what you put in it. Unless it's something icky, like Brussels sprouts or something.

My recipe...

Avocados, with one key lime for each avocado.
Mayonnaise, (NOT Miracle Whip, cause that just doesn't work.)
Green Taco Sauce (I like Dona Maria or La Victoria)

Peel and chop avocados into smallish pieces. Add the juice and the pulp from one lime for each avocado. Stir and smoosh a little bit with a fork. For each avocado, add about a tablespoon of mayo and a teaspoon of green taco sauce, if you're sharing. Since I find it hard to share sometimes, I add about a teaspoon and a half of sauce. Stir and smoosh a little more. I usually smoosh it 'til it's almost the same texture as old fashioned oatmeal, (not that Quaker instant stuff) but a little chunkier. Then I lick the fork, (so it's not wasted) and use it to defend my chips and guac from marauding raiders.

I go by the rules of whatever is in the refrig at the moment - but chunky rules! I love chunks of avacado and anything else. So I agree NEVER miracle whip, whatever salsa on hand, chopped tomatoes, green chilis, jalapenos, usually a combo of sour cream and mayo (not one or the other unless I don't have both which is rare). ohhh and garlic (almost got smacked for leaving that out) :D
 
I love, love, LOVE the stuff!!! I dreamed about my husband buying and bringing me an avocado the other night. It was so sweet of him because he HATES them.

On my birthday we got some sushi though that he was surprised by liking. They were avocado rolls.

I love avocado rolls even though they are "wimpy" sushi in the sushi world....just adore avocado - especially on sandwiches

I don't eat fish, fowl or flesh (unless it's on a person's body that is.)

I use a similar method BUT
I use half a lime/lemon per avacado
a half piece of tomato diced small
quarter piece of onion minced for every 4 avocados
a few shakes of hot sause
large clove of garlic for every 3 avacados.
and a nice tablespoon of sour cream for every 4 avacados.

If I'm not eating it I'd add a little cilantro depending on the gathering, otherwise a put a little parsley in, maybe make it a little more spicey too if I'm not eating it.

oatmealy except for a few chunks of avacado, the tomatoes.

I am embarrassed to say that I have never made my own. :eek:

I absolutely love the stuff, though.

*wishes she were slathering guacamole on a fajita....*
 
The oatmeal with a heavier leaning towards the chunky side of things, albeit the chucks being more like onions and tomatoes.

Snowy Ingredients look just about right, only adding just a touch of sourcream and and whisp of selontro.

I don't think I've ever had guacamole. Haven't really gotten around to pursuing it's taste or something.

Some advice, if you ever do decide to try it, don't buy the store bought crap as it will ruin your first expereince. Find a good mexican resturant and order it on the side.

I voted creamy, because with chips/veggies as a dip I prefer no chunks. To put it on tortillas I prefer big chunks.
 
Voted Ewww! Anything but.
I'll eat a tinge of salsa, maybe, but a good chip needs no goop atop it for muncy goodness.




Snowy- why the sad AV?
 
I like avocados, lime juice, garlic and cilantro. SOmetimes onion. Smooth or chukny is fine.
