How do you let your readers know a chapter will be delayed?

I try to post every other week, and the chapter was 'supposed to' come out today according to this schedule.

The issue is that the story was sent back for 'containing snuff, vore and/or nonconsent'. Given that the story has 0 traces of anything I could consider related to vote, but it does have weapon play, I assume it is a misspelling of gore or guro.

With that said, the story is explicitly set in a realm which magically prevents injuries, making swords cause just erogenous thin pink lines and blows just tingle without leaving anything beyond an ordinary reddening of the skin like one night expect from spanking, and completely prevents deaths, I find that I need to run it by a volunteer editor to even identify what the issue is.

This will, obviously, take time, and so in the meantime I'd like to let my readers know what happened and what to expect, and would like to know what is the usual way of doing this. Is it writing a story that is in the NonErotic category and is just an announcement? A forum post? An edit to my profile? Just leave them hanging?

Profile edits are the most common means. There's no point posting an announcement as a story. It is unlikely that many readers check the forums; not even many authors do so.
Regarding the snuff/vore/nonconsent rejection, it's unlikely to be a spelling error. It's a generic rejection category that seems to be triggered by violence or death in conjunction with (or proximity to) sex. Even if your story 'nerfs' the violence, that might not be apparent with a quick skim where the characters are, say, stabbing each other with knives while they fuck. If you don't think sex and violence mix anywhere in your story, you might be able to just resubmit with an author's note containing the explanation you just gave.

Thank you all. Commenting on my stories did not cross my mind, and I was operating under the assumption that people do not read profiles either. This clears things up.
