How do you describe?

that feeling when you think of someone, they say something, or touch you in a way that you feel it kind of like when you are scared and your stomach drops, but lower like your uterus contracts and a rush goes through you. Is there a simple phrase or way to describe that feeling?

I've heard it described as a 'quickening'..a sexual quickening...

Like the phrase that was used when a fetus first moved?

Quickening is a term I have often heard associated with the first movements of a fetus, yes.

As a mother, I have felt that...it's a fluttering inside, a sudden movement that makes you smile and flush all over...a thrill of knowing that there is a life inside you...and for me, it was an incredible validation of the miracle of what I could do as a woman.

Apply it in a sexual sense, and the feeling is quite the same...that rush that makes you smile, that fluttering deep in your belly that seems to radiate out to the rest of you, a deep satisfaction and thrill of discovery that makes you feel more than what you once were. It's a quickening of the heart and soul, and most especially of the spirit, making you feel more alive.

Quickening is a good word. :)

I agree with Sheath it is more than just a physical feeling.

In the Steeleye Span song " awake , awake" which is based on the Song of Solomon (or songs) from the old testament the lyrics "my belly stirred within" describes that feeling.

I am interested how you would tell a lover that has happened based on something they did or said, just saying you are wet or excited is not the same because it isn't the same feeling. It is like something has got you, but even saying "that got me" seems so inadequate.

I used to feel that with my online lover, we referred to it as "zapping" as in "You're zapping me again".......

I heard the term 'nerve storm' applied to something like that once. I dunno if it fits that particular feeling, but it sounds pretty powerful to me.

Uterus contractions? some yes, some no. I don't have one so I can't really reply on that from a woman's standpoint. What I would say is that I've more than once bumped into the opening of the womb. The feeling, unreal. Did she enjoy it, yes.
