How do you delete your story from the site?

I've looked everywhere and can't find the proper process. Someone please point me in the right direction.

Thanx!

Re-submit your story with the word delete in the notes field at the bottom.

That's not quite right.

You need to do a new submission, and in the title box put the title of the story you want deleted and add "DELETE" after it, like this: STORY TITLE - DELETE.

You can also put a note in the notes field that you would like the story removed.

I can only wonder what someone's motivation for removing stories might be. None of mine are high art and the earliest ones are, quite frankly, crap. But they show growth and determination as the later ones are better. Some of them are even popular. Crummy stories are just like scars. They show where you've been and what you've survived.

Some publishers will buy existing stories but insist they be deleted from wherever they've been posted already on the Internet.

Some writers realize they wrote too close to the reality of something someone might see who they don't want to see it (and it's causing them sleepless nights--I pulled a mainstream work back from deep in the production process myself once, and rewrote a whole section for this reason).

Some are not proud of their earlier writings for whatever reason and don't want them to be read anymore.

Some of them are in a snit over something happening in this forum and pull their work "to show them" or are showing Laurel they are serious that they will pull all of their brilliant work if she doesn't do something for them. (We have a few classic examples of that here.)

Some wrote something brilliant but the commenters and voters thought otherwise.

Some are afraid they'll be caught for stealing stories from elsewhere and reposting them here.

There probably are lots of other reasons too.

First, many thank you(s) for the info.

Second, it's my story, my reasons. None of which has to do with literotica per se, save for the fact that I have had a couple of weirdos email me :S Not cool.

Third, it was a test run any way. Evidently it isn't something folks on here like to read and that is cool. I enjoyed the experience.

Some of the best stories on LIT have low read counts. When you're dealing with the lowest common denominator, quality could actually be a deterrent.

Good luck with your writing.:)

I second that. The first few weird responses bothered me, too, but now? Meh! However, I understand. Best of luck.;)

A thick skin is a must when putting your work out to be subjected to the scrutiny of the internet. The internet isn't nice. I wouldn't invite the internet over for dinner or ask the internet out for drinks, but I know better than to let anything negative the internet says to me get me down.

I don't mean to sound bitter... but me and the internet dated briefly. It didn't work out. ;)
