How do I edit a submission?

Having just submitted my first story, I'm waiting for it to be approved, and, of course, I'm getting the last-minute-this-story-is-so-terrible-I-need-to-fix-this-paragraph jitters. If I just go to my submissions view, edit the story, and hit submit, will that edit my submission or submit it twice? I suppose it's tolerable as is, but I could sleep easier if I had one more round of editing.

I never hate my writing as much as I do right after I call it good enough.

As a sidenote: can you edit a story after it's posted on the site?

First, if your story is still pending, you can edit it and submit the changes -- at the cost of moving it to the end of the Queue and having it take longer to get posted. It won't cause a duplicate posting.

Yes you can edit or revise stories that have been posted, and that would probably be the best choice for your situation if you're concerned about the time it's taking to get posted.

The edit a previously posted story, simply resubmit the edited story as you originally submitted it with the word "EDITED" or "Revised" appended to the title and and a comment that it's an edit or rvision of an existing story in the comments field.

"Edited" if it's typos and grammar corrections.

"Revised" if you've changed the essential content of the story -- i.e. if you've rewritten more than a paragraph or two or substantially changed the story.
