How do I describe this?

Now that the entire thread is pulsating....how about the mind?

In one of my stories, the young lady in question, a Marine Corps Captain about age 25 is for the first time in her life, brought to an orgasmic state by an older man of about 50. She was carrying the baggage of overhearing her parents during sex as a child and it colored her attitude although she did not realize it.

Three other of my stories also deal with frigid or semi-frigid women who are receptive to sexual intercourse, but become passive/submissive to the point on non-involvement during the act.

I recall several women describing how they counted the tiles on the ceiling or the hairs on their arms during intercourse, waiting for it to conclude.

Having discovered that many women, not a small fraction of the total, are inhibited, in one way or another, I have pursued an understanding of the issue and tried to express what I have concluded in my fiction pieces.

Many of my pieces attribute that frigidity or inhibition to the after effect of early exposure to religious attitudes towards sex. The moral instruction that sex is nasty and dirty and bestial and an inner evil drive that must be controlled and denied has, in my opinion, inhibited many who did the Sunday School thing in their younger days.

Others have been molested, abused, embarassed or engaged in sex at too early an age that has left trauma, often deeply hidden and not easily dealt with.

Thus while the physical response to sexual intercourse may continue to provide pleasure and allow the person to 'pretend' in order to satisfy a partner, the inner self remains unsatisfied and incomplete.

This is perhaps the 'social' aspect and while perhaps germane, is not the 'heart' of the matter.

Ingrained in several posts and implied by the thread starter, is, to me, the most interesting question that the opposite sex can never know, the actual gender difference is the act itself.

Although the 'woman on top' advocates may challenge this, it is still an act of penetrating and being penetrated. Some have used the words 'take' and 'give' in their descriptions.

As a male, I can describe my mental state as I consider the act. I can toy with the concepts of 'power', domination, subjugation and a whole host of descriptive words that attempt to convey my feelings as I open your legs, hold you down and force myself into your body.

Some good descriptions by the ladies of Lit preceded this and I implore them to go further with that description, but in a 'mental' way...a natural acceptance of that invasion of your most private and sensitive area.

Enough.....

And I think we'll bump this thread as well. Been searching for specific threads for research and I think some of these really need to be framed and put in the Writer's Resources section.
