How do I ask the admins a question?

I can't find a way to ask the admins about a publishing issue other than the "note to admins" when posting a new story. Is there another way?

I'll post my issue here in case some of you have insights.

My intention was to create a series called Three Vignettes. By the title you can see that the 3 stories are not long or complicated. I've published the first two under the titles Vignette 01 and Vignette 02. When I tried to publish my last vignette it was rejected on the grounds that it was incomplete. It's true that it was the least substantial of the three, but it was not a teaser for a story published elsewhere, nor .... can't remember their other example. I'd like to appeal so I can go ahead with my plan for Three Vignettes. Any suggestions?

How long is part 3?

If it's under 750 words they won't publish it.

Use the forum PM function here, is the other answer to your question. You're looking for a user named Laurel, the Kitty Mama. It's the most reliable way to reach the admins.

Laurel is usually quite good at getting back to you and explaining what's wrong and why she rejected it.

Use the PM mode here in Author Hangout. She goes by Kitty Mama.

Be patient with her. She get a hellava lot every day, she'll get to you.

Good luck.

Either write more into your Part 3, or read your text more closely - you might have left an inadvertent suggestion that it's a teaser for content posted elsewhere.

Make sure it's more than 750 words.

The fastest way forward, I think, is to resubmit your third part, either with changes made, or argue your case in the Notes. That will get it back into the queue, and the content and your case will be joined together. It will either get another rejection (hopefully with more evidence of human eyes looking at it), or it will go through.

Thanks very much. I wasn't sure what you meant by "PM." I found Laurel her and clicked on the name and wrote a conversation. Is that what you meant? Also, now I can't find a record of my message to her. Is there a way to see what conversations I've initiated. If I click on the envelope it says I have no recent conversations.

Anyway, thanks for your response.

When you get the thing that says you have no recent convos, click on "show all" at the lower left of that little window. It'll be there.

If it's not there, then for some reason you didn't send the PM. Send another. It sounds like you did it the right way.

You could try smoke signals, perhaps jungle drums, maybe morse code, carrier pidgeon or even grab a ouija board. You wont get an answer in any of these ways either.

You might not, but Laurel does answer PMs. I had an exchange with her during the last 750 Word Anthology, when I'd cocked up a submission. She fixed it, and thanked me for my stories.

Make of that what you will.
