I know that recently Luna has changed her name to fit with in with life changes, and I know I have read how Fungiug chose his name....but others may not know, and I think i've forgotton

I chose shy slave as in rl I am NOT shy at all, nor was I a slave!!! (weird sense of humour, I guess) :)

I am guessing Mr Blonde chose his because of the film Reservoir Dogs and not the music of Mr Blonde, but then again....

When I put Rosco into Google it came up with the Lit profile, Rathbone cemetary and dog names

AA came up with wrestling & information on vanilla coke

So how 'bout it, how did you decide your Lit name or what inspired you when choosing a name?

Mine was a carryover from when aol had story boards. Had I to do it over again, I would have picked another name to post under. Too many people love and hate me as WriterDom to change now after 4 years.

Not only am I a music geek, but I am also a geography geek. I have a few certificates hanging on my wall to prove it! :D

Anywho, back when I was a mere 14 year old, soon to be 15. we were having a wake-a-thon for our Grade 9 grad. One of the cool things that they allowed was opening the Computer classroom and we (the geeks) had the whole night as a LAN party. I had to choose a name and I didn't want to use my real name. I was about to use the word Cerberus but it slipped my mind and was replaced by the word Celebes. Look that word up in a gazatteer. Yeah, as you may guess, only a true geography geek would have such a place lingering in the depths of their head.

Anywho, as I progressed into my music addiction ws taking over and I was progressing to writing my own scores and such, I wanted my new nickname to be edgier. What way to make your name edgier than to use an X.

I use Xelebes for everything, for my e-mail accounts, forum s/ns, chatrooms, I even have a logo! You see my avatar? That's my logo, rendered in 3D by my friend. If I ever get a tattoo to show my submission, it will have that red Xi character.

The whole story is posted on a thread buried somewhere on the GB, but the short and sweet version is that it's based on a comment Michael Waltrip made to a friend and me at an autograph session.

WD, if you even think of changing your name i'll lead the posse to hunt you down and make you change it back.

Scarlett has always been my nick for 10+ years now....she was tenancious and misunderstood....hence me

My name was shamlessly stolen from the title of a book that sums up my thoughts on sexuality.

I have read that book..:) Very good.

My actual name in my signature is a form of my given name. (You can probably guess part of it...) and is same name I used to use in the D/s room and the bdsm social club on the chat side. I quit going there due to lots of bull puckey that was happening. SO I used the same name when I registered over here, but typo'd my email address, so the I never got the confirmation on to activate it. And of course, I could not go in and change the email cause the account was never activated.

So I picked a new name for log in and kept my nickname in my signature. "Enigma Nocturne" is name of a piano piece my mother used to play when I was younger. I do not think that is the correct name, but that is what my father called it, and since they are both deceased, I cannot ask what it is. If I ever hear it again, though, I will know it in my heart.

I think Enigma Nocturne was written by Chopin, or Enigma something... or was that Elgar?

Vaughan Williams! That's who it was. The Enigma Nocturne or Symphony or something...

Thanks Xelebes..

I do not think it is the Chopin, but I will be looking into the Vaughn Williams. I love his work, just loverly..

That was it! Damn, I'm getting really rusty on my English romantic-era orchestral music trivia.

I majored in music, so I may as well put my degree to use every once in awhile.

(((ysa)))) I wish you didn't miss your dad so much.

Bull PUCKEY??? It was Bull Shit and you know it, hun. The way you swear is so cute..

And now, in order to keep it on topic..

My scene name is rose, but when I signed up we already had a desert rose, a wild rose, and a winter rose.. Then I remembered D commenting about me and my niece (the Junior Domme, aka the Domme Scout) fluttering about the back yard like butterflies on speed and the name was born. I became D's mariposa which is spanish for butterfly.

On other sites though, I use D's wild rose, which is actually a nickname he gave me. I've been thinking of changing this one, if I can talk the powers that be into it.

Started back in highschool.. I was just.. I wouldn't say obsessed with death.. but fascinated by it.. I was your average jeans and tee-shirt gal who was friends with pretty much everyone interested in being friends. ( 'cept the preppy cheerleaders, sorry just can't get excited about nailpolish and shoes.) And I just got a reputation for knowing alot about death.. and in truth the depressive creature I was.. then of course the dark hair.. and later when I got into reading more about De Sade.. I suppose I'm just obsessed with destruction and death... I'm just fascinated with the subject.. The names stuck with me for a few years 'n now.. can't imagine my online persona as being anything but this. because in the depths of myself it is who I am.. if I can't be that away from here it's something I can look forward to when I get home from the damn retail job from hell...

Have always had a thing for wolves, foxes, coyotes- if its a wild canine-type I love it.
Vixandra is from the name for a female fox, Vixen, and the name Alexandra- the feminine form of one of my fave names.
So- Vixandra.
I came up with in like 7th grade as a character name in the story I was writting at the time- was the daughter of the main character that bore my middle name.

Well a few years later, needed a name to use for online things like AIM and Vixandra was the one I choose because it suits me. I can be a little bitch, a cuddly cutie, or a wild hunter, depending on the situation and my mood.

This is easy Rozez because it is my favorite flower and wild well we can all guess that part now cant we??:p

Our screen name was actually chosen for us by a subby friend of ours. He was thrilled to know that we actually decided to us it as our joint account name. I know that not everyone that we have talked to would agree, but those who actually know us think that it suits us.

Miss Karen
Miss Holly

For those who don't know...

Luna (is for the moon)
Wolf (is for my totem animal)
72 (is the year I was born)

apet4you was a name someone else chose, not me, and it stopped fitting 3 months after I started posting to these boards.
I spent a lot of time being someone I could not comfortably be and I felt *Fake*, hence the name change.

(and shy I am sure you remember the damed vote, huh?)

Luna:rose:

I just read through all 9 pages of AA's link.

What a trip down memory lane.

I was listening to Jimmy Buffett when I was trying to think of a name. There was a line in a song about him talking to his friend "Desdemona". Seemed like a good name for me.

WD.... count me in the group that loves your current name!

That reminds me of the Lone Ranger joke when he is about to be executed by the Indians. He whispers something in Trigger's ear and Trigger goes running off. Later he comes back with a naked woman on his back.

The Lone Ranger says, "Damn it, Trigger, I SAID get the fucking posse."

Mr due to gender and Wolf because I feel a connection with them. I also didn't want to use any common titles like Master...:)
I have another name that is connected to my Saxon heritage and outlook...Scimawulf
