In the paper today is an article about Democrat prospects for the 2010 election. Several Democrats are already worried. They want the economy fixed by September. The Obama folks say NO WAY JOSE.

So the question is: How much rope is America willing to give Obama and the Democrats before they want change?

Do Americans get that the economy is seriously fucked up? Do they care? Are their brains frozen with a sense of entitlement and instant gratification?

Will voters throw out the Democrats in 2010?

I'm reading about Hitler's rise, and the circumstances and events of the 20s are similar to our times. Everyone hated Hitler because what he advocated no one wanted, but when push came to shove they got in line and were glad to get what he had to offer. The alternative was starvation and sleeping in the streets.

He said it himself...the ideology is bullshit, what matters is eating and being warm and safe.

Yes. Economies are very complicated systems and this one has been systematically fucked up for a very long time.

Acknowledging something is wrong and trying to fix it take time and patience.

"Similar" and same are different things.

Obama's proposing personal responsibility, organic gardening, lifting research bans and attempting to find sustainable fuel options. Not race hatred or war as industry.

Doing it the right way takes time.

They could do that, they might, and yet they might not. One of those things about terrorists is that its hard to predict their next movement.

Its possible, it could also be said that its already been done by removing Bush from power, and putting the Democrats in power. The economy has been technically in a recession since Dec '07, and was at the front of the discussions held during the election. Will the Dems do better? Time will only tell.
