I just looked outside and I can no longer see my barns! We are having wind gust up to 60mph and it's snowing heavily at the same time. We just got a baby cow today and I have to go feed him, and close up the chickens, I'm afraid I'll be blown away lol

So what's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

After your post I hate to say, but it was a balmy 70 degrees here in Jersey today.

Don't worry about it, I live in the wrong place to complain about the weather!

Sound great roxie - you can fart freely in that wind!!
Cuddle up in the wrm when the calf's ok.
Our chickens were all eaten one cold night - and not by the family.

Here in Scotland 1C, not bad, clear, dry and bed-time.

At 3pm it was 37 and raining off and on. At 3:15 it was about 18 and snowing with winds 25-30 mph. Supposedly we will get gusts to 50 mph and a low of 10-15 tonight with 8-12 inches of snow.

So much for my plans tonight. Oh well, at least my dog is happy that I'm not going anywhere!

Mpls/St. Paul:

We've been having snow and sleet the past couple of days, it's very icy out there. I was gonna go out and get some groceries but thought better of it.

Barns? Are you one of those sexy farm gals with cut-off jeans and a plaid shirt with the tail tucked up through the neck?

:D :D :D

Love that Michigan weather. Well, not really today. 60 mph winds, rain and snow coming. From close to 60 this morning to sub zero wind chills tonight. Oh well..it will be hot and humid soon enough.

Just to piss everyone off ;)

Here in New Zealand it is a beautiful summers day..... the sun is out and a gentle breeze fills the air..... I'm gonna send the afternoon on the deck catching some rays :D

Ok the cow's been fed, the chickens are closed up, I don't have to go back out until morning now. The snow feels like pellets hitting your face, and the wind is not letting up at all! Hope the roads are clear tomorrow so I can go shopping!

Weather

How cold do you think it could get before you freeze your lungs. Well I'll tell you. I live in the great white north. And for the past week it has been so cold I have had to plug my car in so that I can start it in the morning. Ok its been damn cold. get this and I may be calculating this out incorrectly but it was -33C the other day...oh sorry thats with the wondchill. And thats during the day. Ok so in feherenhuit that would be....oh who cares its damn cold. I think its -33F. once you get past a certain temperature it doesnt matter how cold it is...its just cold. Anyways just thought I would enlighten you on coldness.

It was cold. Damn cold. Extremely cold. Really, really cold. No exaggeration. It was very cold. So totally cold that his wire framed glasses froze to the sides of his face. That had only happened once before, in Nam (but that didn't really have anything to do with the cold, did it?). It was truly and exceptionally cold.

How cold was it? Really cold. If coldness was measured in inches it would be 5,000 miles cold. If you took all the vapor streams escaping from the mouths of the people on the streets of New York and laid them end to end they would circle the earth 10 times over. That's how cold it was. Very cold.

It was so cold that his cat Truffles, while sitting at the kitchen window looking out at the cold that was so cold it was a visible entity, accidently pressed his nose against the window and it immediately froze fast to the pane. He had to get a crow bar to disengage the nose from the glass. How cold was it? It was inhumanly cold.

Of course, it was all a matter of perspective. To someone who lived on Pluto it probably was no worse than a normal winter's day. Relatively speaking, of course.

It was cold. Damn cold. Extremely cold. Really, really cold. No exaggeration. It was very cold. So, there was only one thing to do. Stay home.

Glad the calf is okay... I grew up on a farm and had to do that with my grampa! I really miss it.:)

Yea, the calf will be fine, my dorky mother left a radio out there for him lol. He's pretty cool, too friendly for me since I have to remember I'll be eating him at the end of the summer, but he is a cutie.
I never would have thought that I'd ever own a farm, but I love it and wouldn't trade it for anything! Even tho I live way the hell out in the middle of nowhere, it's still so peaceful and quiet here, I don't miss the city at all.

Almost went there myself today, but the weather guy was saying much cooler by the shore. Still one of my favorites places to go. Maybe the bar on the boardwalk would be a good place for the next Jersey get together?? :D

It is rainy and a cold 42 degrees.
Supposed to have sunshine tomorrow....fingers crossed!

I drove home from Florida starting yesterday...warm, sunny through Atlanta...colder as I go north.

Then, nearing home, somewhere in Indiana, I'm faced with driving through ungodly winds. I saw three overturned trucks.

Now I'm back in Chicago and it's goddamn freezing.

But I wouldn't change a thing. :)

Isn't it great being home?

Well, the winds didn't die down last night like the weather channel promised. We lost half of the chicken coop in the middle of the night, so we've all been up since like about 4am rounding them all up and puttin them in the pole barn. I never knew chickens could move so fast! We didn't lose any, so that's good. Other than that, all the animals made it thru, and the house and barns are still standing. :)

Frickin Cold

It's so fricking cold my car is encased in a cocoon of ice and I can't even open the FUCKING DOORS! ARGHHHHH!
