I had to look up some statistics for a weepingcock post a few weeks ago (long story), and I found out some interesting things about how this stuff work.

There are a lot of different statistics you can put out about anything, but an important one is the concept of "standard deviation". The "average" value is what most people have, but "standard devation" talks about how large the range is. F'ex, say the "average" car gets 25 miles per gallon (note: these numbers were completely made up by the Department of CWatson's Head). Well, the standard deviation is going to be large, because hybrids get 40 and large SUVs get 10. In other words, there's a large range of numbers around 25 that can still be considered "average". That's what standard deviation measures.

According to the statistics I found, penis length is not like that. The SD for penis length is about 1 mm. Something like 95% of men are between 5 and 7 inches. If you're smaller than that, you're in a significant minority, and if you're larger than that, you're in a significant minority. These statistics are being confirmed by our home study here.

And you know what? I've learned to live with it. I could fuss and whine about being 5" and on the small side of things. Example: Say 5 guys are measured at 5 inches and one's at 100 (ridiculous I know, just for the sake of argument) then the average would be about 21 inches. A typical measurement is actually the most common test result. As for standard deviation, if 95% of males are between 5 and 7 inches, the the standard deviation would be 1 inch, not 1 mm.
