How Bad Does MSN Messenger Suck?

Mine hasn't worked in two weeks. Instead of the blue screen of death, I get the gray screen of death. Downloading the software again doesn't help. People send messages that look like they are getting to me, but all I see is a blank gray screen.

On Lit, sucking is a GOOD thing. On Instant Messaging, it sucks when it doesn't work and that is a bad thing.

My favorite is probably yahoo because that's the one most of my friends use. I've never had a problem with MSN though. So, I guess I don't think it sucks at all.

It really doesn't matter how bad is sucks, since Microsoft owns the operating system. They can make Messenger the default for their computers and make it a twenty step process to change that, so that most people will just go with it out of conveniance. That's what's happening with the Windows MediaPlayer and I still haven't figured out how to remove that stupid Microsuck Network icon from my desktop.

Might be time to take the plunge for an apple. If only I could afford it : (

Virus Protection can sometimes interfere with the proper installation of software. It could block the installation of certain items and/or just by running during installation it can prevent a clean install. Sometimes it will think that the program itself is a virus.

So - if you're absolutely sure of the integrity of a program that you're installing (pretty much anything you buy commercially or download from a reputable source) then you should turn off virus protection before installing.
