How about Florida?

Denny

Had some friends go from Miami to Gainesville. It took them 12 hours! It usually takes me 4 - 4 1/2/
The biggest problem is those merging from the on ramps causing traffic to stop.......... and little or no fuel!

Just imagine when they get hungry or have to pee at a rest area.

What a nightmare. I'm not surprised, though, since I-75 in the Ocala to Lake City stretch is usually a hot mess even without the surge of people on the road.

I have friends from South Palm Beach County who have been driving 30 hours straight thru, no hotels, toward St Louis... and still aren't there yet.

With. Two. Kids.

I'll take the storm. Hand me my flashlight and pass the trail mix.

I am so proud of the spirit of all of you Floridians! And I am praying for you all. Grace and peace to you all.:rose:

Stay tough!

Thank you . I'm not scared neither I'm a worried . I'm not in a flood zone area . We are fully stocked with food , we have our bags pack in case we have to leave , we have 14 cases of water , storm shudders on our windows, and a full tank of gas .....Plus we have a wine that my husband's coworkers gave us

Lol, I don't even consider 75 an option anymore. 301, 301 is always the answer. 301 to 441, 301 to 100, 301 to 219....the answer is always 301.

Headed back into work at the Emergency Call Center. I worked returned calls from home last night after I got out of the center. I'm so scared for these seniors who are blowing this off like it's nothing. Refusing to go to a shelter at least.

1-866-966-7226 this is the price gouging hotline to turn in anyone who is price gouging.

It's been forever since I've been on the road but I've always enjoyed cruising Okeechobee Rd SR 27 when I went from Miami to Gainesville but there were times I used 301.

I think those lines melted down already with 99% of those calls against gas stations. I mean $7 + for a gallon of gas?

I swear some of these people are scary clueless. One lady called the ECC asking what to do about not having water. One of the team ask her if she had her plastic bottles from recycling... Yes. Well then fill those bottles with tap water and you now have water. Seriously that lady was like Oh OK. Click.

I'm thinking, hoping, it's just people who are new to the state who are not familiar with what to do during a major storm like this. lol Still, it surprises me, too, the lack of common sense that some people have.

That's ridiculous! I have friends who left Tampa for Gainesville around midnight last night, and it still took them a good three hours or so.

Looks like us on the east coast dodged yet another bullet as the eye is just off the west coast but that means those on the west coast will get hit hard.

What's with those pics?
Flagler Beach hasn't even seen Irma yet.
Flagler is north of me, and Irma is nowhere near us yet.
We have rain right now, but it's a seperate storm from the hurricane.

Just posting pics? I won't be able to post to much more the bridges will be closed tomorrow most likely. But I'll try to get to the beach in the morning. Plus Not everybody can see what it's like during a storm so I posted pics.
