How about Florida?

Panama City Beach, Daytona, and others keep making so many laws against having fun even Bike Week and Daytona Speedway events are suffering.

The city fathers and mothers have forgotten what made those places famous because most of those mothers are blue hairs from the upper east coast.
Whats going on?

Panama City, Florida, Daytona, and some place in Mexico became the hot spots that spring breakers flocked to thereafter, but, as far as I've ever heard, was never the same.

And here I am, new to Florida and just south of Daytona.

Well, welcome to florida. Just remember there are all manner of attractions all over the state. your body will acclimatize in about 4-6 months, depending on how often you go outside and not stay in the air conditioned buildings.

Get used to being in a constant state of sweat.

When your mind acclimatizes is a matter of how unyielding you are to moving to a different location and blending in with the locals.

Not for nothin, but if you want florida to be a nicer environment of where you used to live, then you wont acclimatize at all. You might as well turn around and move back now and save yourself the headaches...

Near Ft Lauderdale and bracing for spring break season.

Hope none of you west coasters have been affected by the fire. Had a friend in Naples complaining about the ash but she's OK otherwise.

HI EVERYONE

South West FL

Heading to one of the trashiest Spring Breaks - Fort Myers Beach!

Quick trip to Ft Meyers to watch the sunset this past Saturday. I think I picked the wrong coast to live on. It even smells better over there.

I agree.
Any time I have worked over on the East side I really am glad I live over here on the Gulf.
The sand is different, the smells are different & even the people not quite as stressed.

There's a Keys trip in my future. Who's with me? :)

Funny. J and I were just discussing a road trip to the Keys while at dinner last night. We had just decided to go for it today when we suddenly remembered it's the local districts spring break and traffic would be unspeakably horrible this and next weekend. So, we will wait until the last weekend of the month before we sally forth!

I'm in the Tampa area, been here for over 19 years now. I'm originally from upstate New York, and though I miss the change of seasons, I don't miss the bitterly cold winters!
