When does spring break start in general?

Difficult to describe because each college differs as to when they start spring break. Historically, it's one week long and starts the week before or after Easter. Traditionally, Spring break was hosted in the south Florida region, typically Fort Lauderdale, but in about 1995, the town fathers decided to put an end to it all and made ordinances stopping any college spring breakers from having any fun.

At the same time, Florida state was trying to curtail the "girls gone wild" phenomenon by invoking a "no pictures taken in public areas" law which stopped no only the Joe Francis company, but most college spring breakers who wanted to take pictures for prosperity sake, which again soured the visiting spring breakers

They did this to try to return Fort Laud. to a more retirement friendly community, since spring break typically is an all day/all night affair and made a huge mess of the beach and surrounding areas. That this reduced the income for a huge amount of businesses (not only bars but hotels and restaurants) in and around Ft Laud, was regardless.

Panama City, Florida, Daytona, and some place in Mexico became the hot spots that spring breakers flocked to thereafter, but, as far as I've ever heard, was never the same.

Panama City Beach, Daytona, and others keep making so many laws against having fun even Bike Week and Daytona Speedway events are suffering.

The city fathers and mothers have forgotten what made those places famous because most of those mothers are blue hairs from the upper east coast.
