How about Florida?

Yep. I am. It'll be interesting to see what actually happens. I had a hard time getting gas. Last night & this morning saw some very long lines.

I think our west coast will be okay, maybe a bit wet....although my phone received a Tropical Storm alert this morning. The east coast may be in harms way....I wish them well.

Matthew is like the married guy that gives GREAT phone sex...
...he just fizzles and doesn't deliver in the end.

Been watching & talking to a few peeps on boats in the 17 projected paths, worst anyone saw was 60kt gusts and tons of rain. Not fun, but not the massacre he could have been.

Nice to see you survived the summer out on the water.

Glad to hear that news. I've not gotten any extra news from inside the NOAA planes here yet.
But I just got back from a restock trip on pop top canned stuff in my pantry.
I don't keep a lot of food here but figured better to get it now then need to run out in the rain.

Some stations around me ran out of gas. Also found out a couple of friends had left town already. party poopers. ;)

One fella told me a bit ago that the hurricane was gonna hit us, head up north a ways, spin around & hit us again.

I figure it's just going to be a rain event here like the last one. so I am trying to get some food in I can cook with the cooler temps in the house. Then also try to pack while I'm not in 100 degrees sweating my ass off in the house.

I remember about 10 years, or so, ago, we left northeast Tampa to go inland to Orlando....turned out that it ended up hitting there, and Tampa got almost nothing.

Be safe everybody, just in case.

We had 4 that year didn't we??

Yea & each of those weekends I had to cancel clients for nothing. Pissed me off I lost so much money.

The funny thing tho is right before all those hurricanes, one of my sisters had moved down from Jersey to intern at Disney.

looks like the party is going to kick up in a couple of hours.

The governor already has a game plan how he's going to steal a large portion of any emergency funds we get.

Of course he will & use it to fight us stopping the Sabal Trail pipeline he's so heavily invested in.

Well this shit just got real.
Jim Cantore from The Weather Channel shows up in Central Florida and just a few hours later Disney announces they are closing for the Hurricane. Any of you who have lived here know they NEVER close.

They did when I was there on the day of 9/11

Worse then that, the Gators vs LSU is cancelled.

The center of it is still way south of us here in Volusia, although we are getting the upper arms of it.

It's not bad yet.
Heavy rains, but we aren't getting the killer winds yet.

However, every time I check weather.com, the prediction for when it gets
closer to our area is even weaker.
It was going to be a Cat 4 earlier today, and now it's only listed as a Cat 3.
If it keeps weakening like this, it won't be nearly as bad as originally thought.
Also, the track seems to very slowly move more offshore.
Not a lot, but still...

I saw they were worried about it looping back.
I guess time will tell on that or if it merges with it's GF hurricane Nicole

I hope it hits Nicole hard enough that Matthew breaks apart and turns into a normal
storm in the middle of the Atlantic.

Also, that oddly sounds like sordid description of domestic violence.
