I learned the opposite lesson rather younger. I let slip my temper in a bad moment and ended with rather serious consequences. Since that day, I have never struck anyone in anger - with the exception of my brother who has always found it amusing to torment me.

  • why won't the words come today like they did the last couple of days?
  • why does my child feel the need to turn on every damn light in the house?
  • why does my husband think he's smarter than me when he's still convinced that carbon is man-made?
  • why hasn't the person who came up with teletubbies been shot, and put out of our misery?

*grin* I don't mind who wins - I just pray it goes the distance. Then there's the fun of rewarding the winner and consoling the loser. And confessing to Yui that I can't cover her $500 winning and she'll have to take it out of my hide.

I admire being able to follow a pacifistic creed...I just am not there, even now...but it would take some rather extreme provocation to get me to strike someone at this point in my life. Thing is, I also would be likely to make sure I never had to deal with such threats from that person in the future...my greatest fear would be that I do know I am capable of actually injuring someone seriously in this mode. I have been lucky to have had friends there to pull me away on the rare times I have really lost it.

I will also admit to being a little old school in this area...I have never struck a woman and do not feel I could do so. Even in self defense I have never done more than hold her at arms length and try to avoid kicks...one ex-fiancee managed to bruise me up pretty bad a few times and even send me for stitches once...

sounds like good clean dirty fun to me...I might get pinned while laughing, especially if they find my ticklish spots...

I want to add that I have rage disorder. It' s actually called generalized anxiety disorder manifesting in rage out bursts. But I like the other better. Quite literally I go red and break things and kill picture frames with my bare hands. I can take all comers bring it on!

I am a pacifist. I always have been. If there were ever a draft, I would have to try getting CO status. In my adult life only one person can push my buttons enough to make me want to hit him. I have hit my brother, but I was a kid, and it probably didn't hurt him. He laughed at me, anyway.

Questions for the morning:

  • Why can't I sleep more than 6 hours anymore?
  • Why do I wait to go the bathroom until it hurts?
  • Why doesn't my boyfriend ever turn on the heat when he leaves the house?
