I'm kicking around an idea about a husband discovering that his wife worked as a pornstar to help pay for college back in the late 90s/early 2000s. Each chapter would have the husband finding and watching a new film that his wife starred in. The problem is, I don't really watch porn or know much about what kind of tropes and cliches were around 20 years ago.

Can any of you suggest some appropriately porn-y scenarios you might find from such an era? I've already outlined a few:

Oh Dude, you couldn't be more wrong. Some of the 80s and 90s stuff with Hyapatia Lee and Amber Lynn was pretty damned good and could almost be mainstream without the explicit stuff. Lots more story line stuff instead of bumper to bumper bumping uglies.


As to the OP, it's pretty common, not just fantasy as many who retired went on to normal lives and their current husbands may not be aware of their past.

The 90s early 2000s were a different ball game. Internet porn was definitely around but until Ethernet it was small and short. So I’m guessing most of wife’s stuff was probably shot for VHS or DVD.

Admittedly I was too young to be watching much porn around that time. Since she did it for the money I doubt she was in the high budget “erotic thrillers” but She could have been in the Skinimax or softcore scene that was popular around that time since there were plenty of actresses who participated in that and then got out.

In terms of different tastes: Zeb is right in that most scenarios have appeared for decades.

I would say there would be less taboo scenarios (they were around but not as prolific). There would be more with dialogue and set up to help fill the run time. One big difference is scene length: now a days most scenes are minimum set up and then a VERRRRY long payoff with scenes being 30-40 minutes of fucking. From what I’ve seen of porn in the 90s the scenes usually weren’t that long and they would go to the next one after a max of 20 minutes.

As for the scenarios you’ve posted those should be fine. If you want to see what porn was like from the time, you can just enter a year in your favorite porn site’s search bar or look up a long running porn star (like Nina Hartley) and find stuff they did around that time.


I think it would be ruin if husband confronts wife but gently and it takes a more playful tone as they watch them together. Like she explains what was going on behind the scenes (softcore would be especially funny “the director was so scared to have any penetration be shown they all of the guys tape their dicks or hump our bellies).

you could look up some classic scenes online. Some good sources are pornhub, xvideos and xhamster. They were heavy on the cliché's accompanied by some of the worst acting and dialogue you'll ever see. And the 90's didn't do as much single scenes like they do on most websites these days, they did something like 90-minute movies. They still do some movie length porn today, but not as much.

There was also the European Private Company which put out a lot of beautifully filmed stuff with good looking girls, but it came across as so boring, choreographed and lifeless, at least to me.
