This is a Triumph Mayflower. A British motoring columnist described it as "Queen Anne top and Mary Jane bottom".

People either loved it or hated it. Driving it, you couldn't see the outside and it was a competent and economical small family car.

For a couple of weeks I was friends with a young American woman touring "Yurrup".

In Italy, the first country she visited, she bought a showroom demonstrator of one of these, for export back to the USA:
