Ooh, I have one! of all the crackpot hippy traditions, this recipe is one of the things worth keeping;
Yogi Chai tea!

This recipe comes from Yogi Bhajan, who introduced Kundalini to the west in the late 1960s. Yogi Bhajan is also the founder of the "Yogi Tea" brand, which is easy to find in health food stores. It's very simple to make this tea at home and it fills your house with its wonderful aroma.
Prep Time: 05 minutes
Cook Time: 03 hours
Total Time: 3 hours, 5 minutes
Ingredients:

* 2 quarts water
* 15 whole cloves
* 20 black peppercorns
* 3 sticks of cinnamon
* 20 whole cardmon pods (split the pods first)
* 8 fresh ginger slices (1/4" thick, no need to peel)
* 1/2 teaspoon regular or decaf black tea leaves (approximately 1-2 tea bag)
* Dairy or soy milk and sweetener-- sugar, honey, or maple syrup to taste

Bring two quarts of water to a boil. Add cloves and boil one minute. Add cardamom, peppercorns, cinnamon, and ginger. Cover and boil for 30 minutes. Reduce heat and simmer for two to three hours. Remove from heat, add black tea, and let cool. You end up with a thick syrupy liquid. Strain and store in the refrigerator. When you want a cup, heat equal amounts tea and milk, and sweeten to taste.

You MUST add milk to this tea, by the way. But you don't have to heat it-- you you can drink it iced.

Hot tea & Drambuie?

So, years ago I seem to recall a hot tea drink that involved Dreambuie. It was a liquored riff on Tea-and-Honey.

What I can't recall is if there was anything more to it than tea and a shot (half-shot?) of Drambuie. (I'm pretty sure it was Drambuie that was used as the "honey" as compared to any other honey liquor).

I gave some Constant Comment tea a try with about a tablespoon os the Drambuie. It's tasty, but I think it needs something more. What do you folks think? A dash of real honey maybe?

I used to adore Constant Comment. Now it tastes... I dunno, hollow maybe. I want to add a second bag of something like a Darjeeling to make it more robust.
