I would recommend Steven Millhauser's Dangerous Laughter. It's a short story collection, but borrows heavily from Gothic elements to create narratives that are both disturbing and tender. Also, if you haven't by now, for the love of all that is good, read Mark Danielewski's House of Leaves. It is the horror novel to end all horror novels - a postmodern existential take on the traditional haunted-house narrative. It will fuck you up.
I have House of Leaves on my shelves somewhere. You've made me want to go and get stuck right in!
If you don't mind British horror you should try Adam Nevill. He writes some proper creepy stuff. Loved The Ritual and Apartment 16 especially.
Have you read the books by SKs son? He writes under The name Joe Hill? His books are great, especially Heart Shaped Box.

Have you read any Clive Barker?
Picture of the house, btw.
