hey there.
am looking for some help!
(as to how it fits into the 'how to' section... um 'how to cope with major hormonal changes as a result of the contraceptive pill'... ok?)
i appear to have an allergy to the contraceptive pill (please don't suggest trying a different one... this is my 3rd type!). it causes me to become very clingy, depressed (despite everything being absolutely wonderful as far as life is concerned).
has anyone else had any problems such as this with the pill?
if so could you post or pm me?
pretty please
i am due to see my doctor this thursday, to be fiitted with the coil and i am hoping that the pill leaves my system sooner rather than later, coz it looks like my reaction (despite my boyfriend being incredibly understanding) could finish the relationship i have always dreamed of.
many thanks
H

Some women do have a very negative hormonal response to the pill. It is not unnatural, or uncommon.

I had many of the same problems with the pill. Increasingly undefinable mood swings.. moments of extreme crying jags.. Absolutely horrible.

My only solution to it was to stop taking the pill.. or any other chemical birth control.

Good luck!

i have stopped, and am not going back on any form of hormonal control ever ever again. i meant to ask if anyone who had had any problems on the pill had had problems with major (not entirely common) mood swings when pregnant (and no i don't intend to become duffed up for another couple of years)?
also how long did the effects take to leave your system?

i booked to see my surgery nurse before seeing the doctor, because she runs our women's clinic, and unlike the female doctors at my surgery she LISTENS!!! and she doesn't tell you 'don't worry' or 'don't be silly' and she doesn't automatically link it back to my weight. she agreed that there was a problem. it was all i could do not to hug her.
my dad is a doctor, and i'm lucky coz i have been able to ask him about his opinion, the thing is he can't believe that my docotor's allowed me to go back on to the pill since i had major (i mean MAJOR!) itchining the last time - and as he pointed out that is the EXternal symptom... what is it doing INternally?! not sure i wanna know!
i have a doctor's apt on thursday. fingers crossed she'll agree to a coil and then i only have the hospital to look forward to. i hate condoms - i'm fortunately quite sensitive and don't get anywhere near such a great time when he's strapped in!
i've not turned into a 'crazy screaming crying psycho bitch', but i am not a good friend, lover or collegue at the moment... and my job involves lots of difficult and sad things so i'm not a good point of contact for my clients either. :(
thank you so much for replying!
Hx
