We have an itty-bitty Siamese who's timid and has no clue what to do outside. She can't find her way back even a from a few feet from the house. She went missing yesterday and we didn't know if she snuck out or was just hiding somewhere in the house and wouldn't come out. She has a tag on her collar with our address and phone number, but she's afraid of strangers, and even afraid of us when she runs out and panics...

Anyway, Freckles found her in the neighbor's yard just as I was about to post about her being missing. She must have been out for 24 hours or longer. She's so tiny and helpless, we were going sick about what could happen to her out there.

Good thing is, being Siamese, she likes to talk. And Freckles has taught her to meow when we call her name.

Too much excitement for one evening, let me tell you.

She's chowing down on food as I type. Big sigh of relief.

Outstanding.

One morning I stepped out of the shower to find a section of the screen down in the patio door. Swqueek and Scrapper had wandered out and were absolutely terrified.

Catching them was no fun. Squeek came right up to me when I called and she recognized my voice. Scrapper on the other hand was so freaked she was in panic mode. I finally herded her into a corner of the patio, hedged in by the bushes. She cowered in there showing her teeth and claws.

A quick dart with the hand and I had her, although she might have argued with me on that point. Her claws were deep in my wrist. I pulled her out of the bushes and cradled her to my chest as I carried her inside. As soon as she was cradled safely she let go of my wrist and started purring. She knew she was safe. Since that day none of the vats have tried to escape. They may sit in an open door but the don't venture past it.

So glad you found it. I love cats and know how special they can be. :)

I miss my Siamese. He was one of the two greatest cats ever. He died at 18 about either years ago. Rest in Peace, Pumpkin.

Her litter-mate was being really lovey while she was gone. I think he missed her.

Anyway, they had a kitty reunion. :cattail:

Aww, I'm so glad she's alright. Give her a cuddle for me, if she's so inclined. :)

Good news!

Thought I would share some pics.
OMG! She's soooo pretty!

I'm glad you found her. You might think about putting one of those microchips in her ear the next time you're at the vet. I know kitties are predators, but it's a dangerous world out there with cars and dogs and all.

They should be kept safe and pampered :cattail:

OMG - they put microchip is cats' *ears* over there? We put them in the scruff of their neck here.
They're good, by the way.

Over here they can tattoo the inside of the ear when they neuter them (three of mine have that), but it's hard to see. They can also microchip them (my other two have chips) implanted between the shoulder blades.

Nice kitty! Glad you found her.

Mine is chipped - we are shortly going to use it to transport him to his new home (customs screening). We might actually drive him, the air fare is astronomical - £450. Once he gets here, he'll have the run off the roof tops and hopefully keep the pigeons at bay.

She is chipped, as is her brother. But for that to help, someone has to catch her and take her to the vet before she gets hit by a car, or starves to death, or gets killed by a wild animal.

This animal has NO outdoor skills whatsoever.

She is absolutely gorgeous. I love the blue eyes. I grew up with a siamese cat named Banchee. She used to beat up the neighborhood dogs :D.

Wonderful news! I've had cats gomissing for a day or so (sometimes in the middle of winter) and feared that they were gone for good. It's such a great feeling to see them meowing their heads off on the porch after a day or so. I'm glad to hear yours came back safe 'n' sound -- although I've never heard of a timid Siamese. :cattail:

Microchips have help reunite pets with their owners, but during testing Verichip (the company that makes chips for pets and humans) discovered that their chips cause cancer in up to 10% of all animals that have them implanted. Their stock tanked after the studies supporting this were released.
