Clearly you know more about the Air Force than I do! (That is NOT sarcasm.) I had assumed they only took relatively well-educated people for technical jobs, and that a college degree was an entry qualification for the military tech schools. I suppose that's because I tend to mix only with very nerdy military types.

My husband was in the Navy and studied advanced electronics for two years. My sister-in-law was Air Force doing something in medical. I've listened to them swap stories about tech school. She always brags about only going for nine months and not having to extend her enlistment for the training.

They were both enlisted. I'm guessing you were thinking more along the lines of officers. If they don't attend the academy for four years, then they have to have at least a bachelor's degree. Although there are exceptions.

I'm curious. Back in the old day, before nearly every state had casinos, gambling was considered an evil. And yet, with it being legal in NV, most people that lived there took it for granted. Besides the tourists, plenty of local residents gambled.

Prosititution is still an evil in the other 49 states. But do residents of NV think of it as blase the same way they view gambling?

What if the son knew his mother worked in a brothel and didn't think anything of it? Granted, this is a completely different spin than on what the original poster had suggested. But then, it's not like he's an active participant in this dicussion either.

The part where it was said if they were his friends they would know his mother doesn't have to be so. Maybe in a small community, but not in any large city or from another city. If he is from a college town or in the military and he may go to a city where his mom is working without his knowledge. It is something that married or women with children who work in Gentlemens Clubs or as hookers don't usually discuss with their children. If the son is 18 and his mom 36 (and I have a couple of friends who are lap dancers who are in their 30's) it could happen. As a pilot, yes. He would be about twenty four. Leaves high school at 18. Goes through four years of college or academy and graduates at 22. Then it's at least two years of flight school.

But for every pilot in the Air Force, there are thousands of support personnel. An enlisted supply clerk does not require and additional six years of schooling. For the enlisted ranks, it's about nine weeks of boot camp followed by anywhere from 2 months to two years of schooling on a particular specialty.

An airman could easily be away from home for a year before getting stationed at the base near home. Then his new friends at the base wouldn't know it was his mother. Nor would she know that he was going to leave the barracks on any one night to visit a bordello.

Personally, the biggest problem I have with most of these scenarios is keeping the guy a virgin. Hell, I'd give him a sympathy fuck!

I'm assuming by "old days" you mean the 1920s.
Gambling was illegal because it attracted murderers and thieves.
Old Chicago has a huge history of this.
Gambling as well as prostitution was legal in Las Vegas, where it was out of Nevada Federal jurisdiction.

Actually, I was refering to a lot more recent than that. I was referring to the more recent explosion of gambling. In the '90's, Illinois, then Missouri started riverboat gambling. With Power Ball, many states that didn't have lotteries now have them. Even the casinos on the Indian reservations are more recent than the twenties.

may l add an idea in here...based on a real live event....well since this was in the southwestern area of a large city where times were tough for all....the neighbour hood bully who pushed all the young guys around at the shops even stealing their money for years.. one victim had met a new group of friends from a tougher neighbour hood who visited him and whitnessed this bully pushing every one around....
When they were hanging around talking a young girl tells them that the bullies mother works at a near bye brothel...they all take it turns screwing mum so they can tell the bully they had all fucked his mummy....one would feel the bully would be mad as...but was he..lve just added the last idea...

Back to the original idea. The mother should be new to the game. Maybe hubby left her and money's tight. Adds a certain naivety on her part, also a little reluctance (she only ever fucked her husband before). The son's working in real estate, and he goes out one night to celebrate his boss' birthday.
