Where is our support?

If there was any time, this is it.

People who only want fairness.

Common theme, no?

Amerika Uber Alles!

Freedom...for all!

(Unless the giant threatens us)

HK will prevail.

On their own.

All these places that yearn and cry for our help.

Fuck em 'all.

Why should we?

Sounds...trumpian.

:p

Here's the way it works with China. The only pull we have is quiet diplomacy. Shaming the commie party in public, say, by Trump shitposting on Twitter will only make matters worse for Hong Kong. The Chinese won't stand for losing face. If America comes out too strongly for Hong Kong civil rights, the Chinese will have to crack down on the protest purely as a big middle finger to "American Hegemony."

We can, however, quietly have discussions with the Chinese indicating we would like the extradition bill withdrawn and Chinese Communist Party to reaffirm their commitment to "one nation two systems," or else... Naturally, you will not know what our diplomats are saying quietly to the Chinese. It will not be televised.

On the other hand, more Machiavellian voices in our State Department well understand that China fucking up royal in Hong Kong is to our geostrategic advantage, however sad it may be for the people of Hong Kong.

It's a lose lose situation for the Chinese. If they crack down and get what they want, a subservient Hong Kong, then they will kill their only truly free market economic golden goose. That will cost them plenty at a time when the Chinese economy is already in a major crisis. If they don't crack down, they lose too, because the world has already seen their totalitarian approach in Hong Kong. Especially in Taiwan, this episode is making a bad impression.

Perhaps we should not interrupt our enemy while they are making a mistake.

China is done with Hong Kong.

Next is Taiwan.

We keep backing down,
Why would they stop?

For the same reason that our Progressive Left would happily kill our golden goose.
Absolute control is more important than economic opportunity.

"But opportunity isn't FAIR, we want outcome dammit."

Indeed.

That is the rule of the tribe.
When you do not find the buffalo herd, everyone starves...

..., even the medicine man.

Amerika Uber Alles!

HK waves American flags, Democrats burn and stomp on it.

We should just do a population exchange with California...everyone would win.

Freedom...for all!

No they won't....the comrades are going to declare a media black out, go in there and commit some crimes against humanity like they always do. Not that it will be problem for any Democrats out there, mass murder is only bad when a fascist Nazi does it.

Besides, it's PROGRESS!!! The exact same brand of progress the (D)'s are pushing us towards....can't be all bad right?? :D

Progressive comrades at Twitter host Chinese made ads attacking Hong Kong protestors.

Sounds like Twitter true to their love of leftist totalitarianism, but they did out the Chinese government involvement in the creation of those accounts. The Red Chinese have infiltrated large numbers of their mainland police officers into the Hong Kong police force as well. They are there to escalate violence against protesters and to inform on reluctant Hong Kong police officials and officers who might want to rebel.

Meh. Weird all around if you ask me. Who ever heard of renting a country in the first place?

The aggrieved party in this whole affair is Great Britain. It is their agreement with China that is being violated by the red Chinese, yet to my knowledge, not a peep of protest from them.:(

The responsible party in this whole affair is Great Britain. It is their agreement with China that set this all in motion. To my knowledge, Little Bo Peep and her Sheep ....

Fixed yer post Doublenaught Dumbledumb.

Headline from the Babylon Bee: Bernie Sanders Arrives In Hong Kong To Lecture Protesters On How Good They Have It Under Communism

From the Babylon Bee story:

"Remember, you could have it a lot worse---you could be in America!" Sanders bellowed as police officers for the totalitarian regime beat protesters in the background. "Hey, you! You on the floor there! You're not looking very appreciative of living in one of the greatest Communist countries on earth!" Sanders continued his long-winded rant about the need for the government to own the means of production, how great breadlines are, and how bad things are in capitalist America as protesters got dragged away by police to be disappeared.
"Just think---in America, we have to pick between 14 different types of deodorant!" he said, his fingers flopping around like limp sausages.
According to sources, Beto O'Rourke is planning on joining Sanders to inform Chinese citizens how lucky they are that they don't live in a racist country like America.

FYI, the Babylon Bee is lawyering up against Snopes, which apparently is having a hard time figuring out that the Bee is actually publishing fake news.
