Hometown (Open)

She sighed. She had not wanted him to know so early but he was a bright guy and she figured what the hell.

"People regard me with suspicion. They look at me as a single mother, working two jobs, no husband. And the fact that Selena's father has not been named., that in itself is wrong to them you know all this Marcus. Its the same shit different day" she sighed again.

She wanted to hold him again, she wanted him to hold her. She just wanted to be safe and for once kick the lonliness she felt everyday of her life.

Marcus looked at her with sympathy. He knew that it wasn't easy to be a single mother. Not in a small town like this. He just couldn't get over the fact that he was the father of a girl. Many thoughts went through his mind. The most important was that he was not about to let Maria raise the girl by herself. What did that mean? Was he considering marriage? If not how could he be a part of Selena's life?

He reached out and took Maria's hand in his own. "I am sorry that i wasn't here." He sighs. "I know it could not have been easy, not in a small town like this." He smiles at her a little careful. "Now that i am home i will do my best to support both you and Selene." He felt a tear in his eye but blinked it away. He had learnt at a young age that men don't cry.

Turning to him, she wiped the tear away.

"It is not your responsibilty to do any such thing. I only want your what you have to offer. You dont have to make a change for us. It is just hard sometimes. I lay awake at night and cry for my litte bambina" and with that her own tears started to flow.

"God, I am so so sorry. Here I am leaking like a faucet myself. Look, I have to get back to work but, come by the house tonight for dinner. My treat this time hum?" she asked.
