Simple as that.

I'll write more when I'm up to it, but I am home minus thyroid.

they treated me really well. :D

thank you all. :rose:

you're prayers and good thoughts really worked, I felt so at peace all the time :)

And I'm out super-fast! Yay.

Just slept for a few hours, it's nice to be in my own bed again :)

Nice to see you, EL. My continued thoughts on an uneventful and speedy recovery are with you. Hopefully, you'll ease right into an even keel and steady current as far as your meds go and all will be wonderful in the end. :rose:

So, I went in on Monday after starving from the night before. I was admitted just afternoon and told at about 2 that I was not on the theatre list 'til the next day. Oh well. I got some lunch, Mr EL went home and I sat down to some serious cross stitching.

I made friends with a sweet irish lady and slept reasonably well. After the poor doctor tried to take blood from me at about midnight, poor thing, I have awkward veins.

So i was the first in on Tuesday morning at 9.15am. I was faaling really calm and peaceful and I happily went under the anestetic on my 8th wedding anniversary!

I was HOT when I came round and that was the most uncomfortable thing. I got a couple of shots of morphine, a cold paper towel on my forehead and an oxygen mask in the nose instead over over my face and I was good to go back to the ward.

Everyone popped past to see how i was doing, my surgeon, doctor and anestetic (can't spell, too tired and lazy to look it up *L*)guy and the nurse from recovery all came past as i came round, bless'em. the nurses were rushed off their feet but i still felt like I got tonnes of positive attention, Nurse graham is the best pillow fluffer this side of anywhere I can tell you. :)

I ate soup for tea (it was gorgeous) and was much more with it when my sister came to visit in the evening that I expected to be. My hubby came in alot earlier and I was still pretty muzzy. he brought me a cuddly eeyore :)

Oh, and I sounded like miss piggy. *L* my voice was really, really weird all day.

Anyhow, I slept okay, a couple of hours, then 3 or 4 more sat bolt upright, craddling my wound drains (an attractive look and a damn pain when trying to go to the loo!*L*) The next day doc said i could have the drains out and was very pleased that my blood calcium levels were spot on normal -yaaay.

I felt so much better on Wednesday, the drains came out, I cleaned myself up got into my own nighty and got my voice back -woo hoo! And then this morning I was discharged, calcium levels normal as normal and my lovely wound looking good.

I cannot praise the nurses,, doctors and staff enough. they were wonderful and I am convinced their amazing care has gotten me home so quickly. they smiled, they joked, they cared, truly, every one. I felt at home, as weird as that sounds, I really did.

I made friends with loads of patients too. I was the crazy long term patient wandering round and talking at people *laughs*

So there you go, EL's stay in hospital :)

Now, I do believe it is my bedtime!

EL ... it's good to see you back and hear that all went well

*Hugs* *Kisses*

Now, back to bed with you so you can rest and heal :rose:
