A home invasion robbery suspect died overnight when he jumped out a second-floor apartment window, apparently after his intended victims opened fire on the alleged intruders.

The incident happened at an apartment complex on Lancashire Circle near Stone Mountain.

Channel 2 Action News reported that a couple with two small children live in the apartment, and exchanged gunfire with the suspects.

One of the suspects jumped out a second-story window to escape the gunfire, and hit a tree before falling to the ground and dying, according to Channel 2.

A second suspect was found several miles away in the parking lot of a shopping center on East Park Place in Gwinnett County, and was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound.

So two unarmed intruders where thwarted by an armed apartment dweller. The one who got shot lived. The other jumped out a window to their death.

And presumably your point it that this scenario is a justification for letting the so-called "gun show loophole" remain in effect and to to do nothing as a society to keep automatic weapons out of the hands of the mentally ill.

Do I have that correct?

Presumably you're a fucking idiot. Read the article again. Slowly.

Not to jump in, but doesn't "exchanged gunfire" mean that the bullets were flying both ways?
Still, how dare they actually shoot at two men who had broken into their home?
tsk tsk

Since the article didn't mention the armed or unarmed status of the intruders don't you think it rather presumptive for you to assume?

Besides, I think the operative word is "intruder".

Was this burglar a convicted felon possessing a firearm?

Well clearly something like this happening, argues in favor of relaxed gun control.

I heard about this one time that someone escaped from a home invasion by throwing an 8 ball at someone's face.

legalized drugs, they save lives.

I would feel much safer going to bed at night knowing that a loaded pump-action 12 gauge is sitting right under my bed.

If a burglar busts in, I won't have to go hide somewhere and dial 911.

Law-abiding citizens have guns to protect themselves from those who intend to do them harm.
