I like. Put it on my Amazon Wish List.
Agreed. Nov. 1st is too early. A few of my favorite singles are:
- You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch (the original)
- Where Are You Christmas? (Faith Hill)
- God Rest Ye... (Barenaked Ladies + Sarah McLachlan)
- Santa Baby (Madonna)
- Ave Maria (Karen Carpenter)
- Children, Go Where I Send Thee (Natalie Merchant)
- Ay, Ay, Ay It's Christmas (Ricky Martin & Rosie O'Donnell)
- Coventry Carol (Alison Moyet)
- Winter Wonderland (Eurythmics)
- 2000 Miles (Pretenders)
- Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree (Amy Grant)
I like quite a few of those songs, although I have different versions of them. Here are some of my favorites I currently have on CD:
Christmas Eve Sarajevo - TSO
It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas - Johnny Mathis
All I Want For Christmas Is You - Mariah Carey
Redneck 12 Days of Christmas - Jeff Foxworthy (who else..LOL)
The Chimney Song - From Dr. Demento's Christmas CD.
Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer - Elmo & Patsy
Leroy The Redneck Reindeer - Joe Diffie
Mad Russian's Christmas - TSO
Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas - Garth Brooks
I actually have the entire "Grinch" soundtrack (from the movie with Jim Carey, not the animated original). Oddly, it's one I rarely listen to even though there are a few tracks on it that I do like. I got it as a promotional thing quite a few years ago. One of the Yahoo! Groups (back then they were called Yahoo! Clubs) I ran was of a Hollywood theme. We discussed movies and actors, etc. Someone from (I think it was Universal Pictures....whichever company produced THE GRINCH) who was in charge of promotions came across the group. She emailed me and told me in exchange for putting up their banners to advertise new movies, she'd send me promotional stuff...THE GRINCH soundtrack was one of the promotional things I was sent. I don't know and don't remember what all I got, but I do remember some of it was pretty cool. I did get a few soundtracks to movies, I remember, but most I gave away. One of the soundtracks was from THE MUMMY, but I gave that to my roommate at the time.
If anyone's interested and since it was promotional and I never paid for it, IM me and I can make arrangements to send it to you if you'd like. As I said, I rarely listen to it and the tracks I do like I already have on other CDs. I've since lost the cover, but the CD is still in excellent condition. Oh, some of the tracks are actual dialogue from the movie.
Harry's on my wish list, too.
I don't have any Harry Connick, Jr., but I do like some of his Christmas stuff too.
