I have gmail talk, but I don't really like it. It's not nearly as good as yahoo or msn. I do have gmail notifier, which is awesome because it allows gmail to become your default mail application (so when you click on someone's email address, it opens a gmail box for reply). But I never turn the notifier on.
I use gmail with firefox, and I've never had a problem. And my refresh is alot faster than 15 minutes, like maybe 1 or 2 minutes, but I'll try to look it up.

This may be off topic, but have any of you (AH'ers) tried Skype? Voice over IP. It's free and the sound quality is 10 time better than MSN or Yahoo!. Plus you can conference up to five people together. And if you need more than that you can download Festoon which will allow you to confernce up to 200 caller at once. Festoon is an addin to Skype.

I've used Skype, and I'd agree it's good, but your post started me laughing. It would be bad enough trying to talk to four other people at the same time, without the viual signals we take for granted when we're chatting to friends. Can you imagine two hundred? That seems like idiocy to me.

Honey, At the sign on page there should be a field to request a forgotten password. I think they ask the secret question you listed when first signing up. They will send it to your alternate email.
