This is not about a hand fetish. This is about the simple act of holding hands, whether on a first date or years later. There is so much you can tell. For example, on a first date, as we were walking to the restaurant, my new girlfriend took my hand, fingers interlacing with mine. In context, that was very intimate. Nor did she just hold it, she gave a gentle squeeze. Of if you're holding hands in a movie, does she respond to a gentle squeeze, or is her hand limp? Does she respond to you stroking her hand or arm with your other hand? Do her hands look well cared for? Are they overdone, with fake nails?

On their side, women can tell a lot. My hands are rough and scarred, not from work but from my hobbies. Some women find that masculine, others are put off by it.

Your thoughts?

Hand holding is really quite intimate. Think about it. If you saw your significant other holding hands and walking with someone of the opposite gender, how would you feel?

I have a crush at my church and I’ve thought about holding her hand, but it represents a large step! We can hug and give each other a kiss on the cheek every time we see each other, but holding hands, I think, would be out of line.

Same. Except only 43 years …… still newly weds 😂
We do have periods of time apart. Primarily due to our “kids” living 3000 and 12,000 miles away. Cathy will visit and do the grandma stuff while I continue to work on the project rehab house.
But we are a close, tight couple.

We are a very affectionate couple. It’s how we show our love for each other and one of our common love languages. Holding my hand in a theater, caressing my thigh during our road trip, arm around my shoulder at a baseball game, touching my lower back at a jazz club, or arms wrapped me during a concert. It’s one of my favorite things about him, I always feel loved and cared for, And he is always fully present with nowhere else he would rather be than right there with me. I am a very lucky girl. ❤️

Both Hubby and myself are exactly the same as you guys, it’s definitely a shame that there’s not many couples who love feeling this way now.

That’s wonderful. Every woman deserves to feel this way. I am spoiled and finally the woman I have been envious of.
Absolutely agree with you about that, we both have always been very comfortable with close contact together, and we both are very comfortable with having close contact with another our friends that we may be out together with

We’re lucky baby…

Again similar… mostly together but we do spend time apart. We think it’s healthy for each of us to have some independence but we are happiest when together. Between kids, grandkids and a cottage 3000 miles away, we are always on the run. Mostly in tandem but not always.

we hold hands at times, after 45 years of marriage, but we rarely get out together in an area to hold hands.
