How about a home envadsion. Robers break into a house thinking that the owners are away on vacation. They cased the house and saw the family leave. What they didn't see was the mother and daughter return.

The robers figured out that the husband has left on a long trip, by the two plane tickets they find. The robers are again feeling comfortable having the mother and daughter bound.
The robers begin to get upset because they aren't able to find any cash or jewelry. The mother tells them that their valuables had been put in a safty deposit box at the bank and the husband is the only one authorized to retrieve them.
