I did cross stitch as a kid, but only a kit or two. Recently I've asked my mom to teach me embroidery, which will be interesting since I've not sewn much of anything in my life.

As far as invested hobbies, outdoors adventures have become a favorite the past few years or so. Camping, hiking, kayaking. I was at the water gap the other weekend, trekking the side of mountains is awful and wonderful simultaneously.

Yoga, of course, but I've nattered on about that before. 13ish years, so definitely my longest hobby aside from cooking. Quarantine gave me ample time to cook too my heart's content. It's my most creative outlet, since artsy stuff is fun, but a bit beyond me.

I have done woodworking before my spine gave out.

Ditto for the equines, I used to ride for at least 2 hours every day. Sometimes it was all day and/or the entire weekend on a wilderness trip. Alas, no more.

No more backpacking trips either. (Sorry Thor, no snow or ice. Or skeeters. There are bears though.)

Currently, I'm involved in taking tiny things apart and putting them back together again so they work as good as new, or better. (For reference, the dial is about 2 inches across. It's an 18 size Elgin HH Taylor from 1871.)

Learning Tai Chi. I still haven't learned all 108 forms of the long form yet but I'm working on it.

Want to do more sailing but with my spine (and work) it's difficult to find the time and someone as a safety backup - sailing isn't as instantly gratifying as gaming or social media. Plus there's that "I don't have a sailboat anymore" thing, but that's easily remedied by writing a check. And another check. And another. And yet another. Not to mention the credit card that the chandlers think is limitless...

I’m a collector and dealer. I will make repairs if I need to, but it’s not something I enjoy. I collect all kinds of things. If I had to say, I guess my favorites would be art, antique to MCM silver, same span for jewelry and vintage clothing that is mostly furs and other coats.

I'd love to play the piano or a keyboard of some type. Unfortunately because of an injury to my right hand many, many years ago, my fingers just don't work well enough to play. I hope you have fun with it. Every time I think of a piano the cords from Billy Joel's "Vienna" trickle through my head.

I aged it with a crackle glaze and dark brown wash, which you can't see in this picture.

I may replace it with something better at a later date...

If it interests you you should pursue it. You could easily get a really good quality keyboard really cheap and there are so many options with those such as arpeggiators (sp?) That could fill in the parts you can't provide.

I don't mean you can necessarily pull.off a familiar tune the way it was played, but there is no reason you couldn't compose or play really interesting pieces one-handed. A sharp piano teacher could figure put some things fir you to play.
