Here is one of those educational films from way back. Sometimes its good to look back to see how far we have come and how messed up the views were back then. Hope you find the humor I did in this, mmmm zombie homosexuals in the public bathrooms... rarrrr...

Thanks for the cool link. Too funny, but definitely a film that defines the sign of the times. First of all I love the dated "Leave It To Beaver" type music soundtrack.

Yeah, the wholesome '50's. I think in those days there was an educational film for just about anything, from atom bombs to communists.
Yes, it was definitely still the dark ages for gay people. Forget about GLBT, you were just labeled "a queer" and that covered it all. It was a disease, or a sickness, that lurked in public bathrooms, preying on young boys!
This is great Midnight Movie Madness type stuff.

Seriously though, it angers me how child molesters or pediophiliacs are often compared to, or maybe confused with homosexuality. I think even today that dark cloud still hangs over us to some extent. Especially with the recent Catholic priests' scandals. Still, things today are definitely much better for us and there is no comparison to those times. True, we've come a long way and I think my costume for this Halloween is going to be a zombie homosexual!

(Please, I'm joking)

Isn't that pretty much how it is now? The only difference is who's allowed to use the Q word.

Oh no.... you might consider reading the book "Sex Crime Panic" by Neil Miller which details how gay men in 1950s north-west Iowa were convicted of being "Sexual Psychopaths" and sentenced to spend years in a mental hospital "until cured". The police arrested gays sometimes just on the word of other gays they arrested.
