Historical/Period stories

I actually mentioned this as a fantasy in an upcoming story. Say around the 1860's, unmarried women (and even married ones) would be closely chaperoned if they with a man. But, if they were with another woman, nobody would suspect anything. Lesbianism and bisexuality were so taboo that probably many didn't believe that anybody they knew would indulge in it. But many ladies did know about it.

So a Southern mansion, or even a more modest house, just before the Civil War. The husband is away on business. Meanwhile, the naughty maid needs some discipline from the lady of the house. Then, the sparks really start flying.

Or the lady next door comes over for tea - and a lot more. If the weather is good, the garden might be a nice setting to get started. Old Dixie could be a pretty wild place. Not that he North was any better.

This is good stuff. I'd place it in the North, just to avoid the slavery issue, but it's a very sexy idea. A few wealthy ladies are left alone while the men are off fighting/politicking/whatever. Petticoats everywhere.

Thanks! I'm not that up on what women's underwear was like in various eras. It certainly varied according to social class. I think by the 1890's, they had those bloomers which opened up in the back. Very nice, as also mentioned in an upcoming story - by a 21st Century woman who buys replicas on-line.

I'm a bit stodgy, so two women at a time is enough for me

I'd love to see more stories that take place in the past, something like Nurse Jenny Experiences Midway.

I doubt I'll be the one to actually write them, but does anyone have any ideas?
Oh yes!! Me too! Sometimes i skip reading stories about the basic frat/sorority scene and even some of the contemporary stories just because of the settings. I wish i were a more talented writer!

I shall look forward to that!
