Her eyes bolted open. She sat abruptly, squeezing and popping the head of a nearby imp like a baloon.
Lynnara feared the day would come. It had. A mortal had taken the ring, that she so carefully had placed within a secure tomb in Egypt. It had been safe 3000 years, but now ... she had to act quickly .. but carefully.
She launched herself upward, sailing up past the layers of the Abyss, her mottled green skin, distorted bat-wings, and twin tails that writhed like tentacles ... changing. Her skin softened and turned a light olive brown, the wings and tails disappeared into her back. A full, thick head of dark brown hair sprouted from her bald head, covering four small pointed horns, not stopping til it reached her waist.
Her red, reptilian eyes became a liquid brown, false depths hiding a malicious, destructive hatred.
When she appeared in the Egyptian desert, the baroness of the Abyss had become a simple peasant-girl. She began to follow the tracks of this man, away from the obscure hidden tomb, to the city of Cairo where his temporary lab had been set up.
The serving-girl at the lab had been disposed of quickly. She barely had time to comprehend what was happening to her before nearly every bone in her body was shattered in a daemonic burst of energy.
Lynnara took the serving-platter of filtered water, sliced spiced meats, and dates into the lab, where Hagreg was absorbed by .. the ring. She had to distract him, keep him from wearing the ring ... but could not harm him either, for if he died the ring would be lost to her as well, tumbling back to the Abyss for any of the other rulers there to cease ... and between the options she would rather be this man's slave than slave to a rival demon.
"Sir, do you thirst or hunger?"

On a scedualed dig in egypt a man finds a mysterious ring and takes it back with him to study. The demoness that hid the ring wants it back, but knows once it's on the man's finger she could not disobey or harm him.
