I just got an invite in the mail today for my 10 year High School Reunion. I can't believe it's actually been 10 years. I don't know if I'm going to go though, because what am I going to tell anyone if they ask what I do for a living?

Them: Hi Sarah, long time no see. What are you do for a living?

Me: oh not much. I'm a glory hole slut. I work in the back of a sex store in Maine; sucking cock and swallowing cum for a living. What are you do?

LOL

Thanks, lil lace.

This is making it much easier for me to attend my 20 yr next month.

Is that what you studied in high school? :)

Sounds like you should be the Belle of the Ball!

i know someone who just attended his 70th high school reunion. there were only like 12 people there and he was surprised.

I've only been to one reunion, and that was my 40th. If we have a 70th, which is unlikely, I probably won't go. It would be in eight years and would be held 2,000 miles from where I live and just wouldn't be worth the trouble and expense.

Oh my god such babies! Gorgeous babies, but babies still. I went to my 20th and my 40th. but skipped my 50th. The main reason beng at my 40th I realized it was the same damned clique dynamics that had prevailed in high school. Before my 40th a friend told me,"you have to go. Everyone mellows when they get to that age and you'll find it's totally different."

Bullshit. The same people hung out in the same cliques as they did 40 years before. After a life time of scars and laughter, hurt and hope I don't need or want that kind of crap.

Comshaw

So you're 80? Holy fuck I knew you were old but didn't know you were THAT close to death.

I would be, too. You'd expect maybe 3 or 4. Or that nobody would remember going to high school.
I wonder if the whole event was those dozen people saying "who are you again?"

My tenth was fun, saw a lot of old friends and reconnected. The 'in' clique was all there, but enough of us that weren't with the 'in' crowd were there so we could ignore them. They still strutted around like they were the greatest, even though a lot of the kids that were not cool or popular were well on their way to being really successful.

It seemed that attitude among the less popular was to come back to have one last look at their class before moving on with their lives.

My twentieth less fun, fewer old friends showed up. I wasn't going to go, but the SO wanted to go. The 'in' clique from high school was there in force, most of them still lived in that little pissant town, still thinking they were kings of that pissant town.

I didn't go to the thirtieth, from the photos posted online, it looked pretty much like just the 'in' crowd from high school showed up. They had it at the bar they all used to hang out at a few years after high school. So they had fun reliving their glory days. I've long since moved on from high school.

I won't go to any more. I do like to see the updates on who died though.

These two posts made me lol. Great caricatures.

Amazing, eh? How universal these things are, across generations and countries.

We had the haughty, 'fashionable, wordly' girls who kept a few guys (nice guys, actually) in their wings, to boost their image.
But we also had the Incel group - guys who feared rejection or a loser status and adopted a 'haughty' attitude to show that they, too were cooler than the rest.

But the 'cool kids' weren't given the same prestige or power that the US classroom culture gives them.
The equivalent of them were the fake genius posturing and lies: "Oh look, I only read my math homework for five minutes this morning and scored just like you losers who studied for hours. Therefore, I'm more intelligent and cool."

I never attended the High School I graduated from and everyone in my class is at least two years older than me...

So even if invited, I would never attend.
I wouldn't know anybody there.
They wouldn't know me.

Because I was ready to graduate and they weren't.
I was in college at 16.
Could have been there earlier
but I had to accrue some real dumb-ass credits

like gym and "industrial arts."

Yes, bullying was vicious too in my day when it occurred, but I don't recall it being as prevalent as I hear it is nowadays in Western schools.

But then, I was pretty in the middle and didn't stand out in any way, so I wasn't a target. So I might have not paid attention.

It's probably pretty much the same now, as then.
Children can be vicious little things, they aren't adult yet.
We're just so fucking bored and lacking in direction that we look for offense.

I think South Park did a brilliant job of lampooning the anti-bully bullies of the intolerant Left...
