I enjoy them as well, although they need not be over the knee per se for me, as I like heeled knee boots as well.
My interest in them came about because of the marriage between heeled-boots and guns, another love of mine. One day we were talking to a friend of ours who is the mother of seven kids, and weighs probably ninety pounds, and probably only if she was soaked in a lead-bath.
